Hitman 3

First issue with the game.

No dialogue in cutscenes, and I can't hear Diana or Lucas Grey talking on comms when in missions (though I can see the subtitles)

47 talks and all the other dialogue from NPCS seems to work

Annoyingly the lack of raytracing on launch is one of the main things keeping me from bothering with the game right now. How long until it gets patched in?

Just playing through the training level of Hitman 3, I’m guessing it’s a 2016 original level given how simple it is graphically? Disappointed that they couldn’t bring it up to modern standards it really is basic polygon models!

Anyway my question is: is treating this as a shooter and killing all the guards first and then walking to the target unhindered and eliminating them a viable option or do I have to sneak around throwing coins?
You can but you'd be better off just finding a game designed to be played like that first and foremost. It doesn't take much to get killed in this and being new to the game you won't know the maps or patrols or anything so you're just gonna die

Probably a few months. That seems to be the case for games that announced support but where it's not available at launch. I'm guessing they'll do reflections only, so won't make a huge difference here given that it has both ssr and bind-to-texture, but DLSS will be nice for 2060 users to get an extra push.

I can confirm that in the training module (yacht) you can hide at the start and pick off the police and guards from afar and then casually walk in and kill the target. I did think more guards might spawn but had a very leisurely stroll around the yacht unchallenged.

It's not built to be a shooter, but guards don't respawn.

If you play the whole game like that I don't think you'll get much out of it.

This has some of the best non ray-traced reflections I've seen by the way.

Your right the games more enjoyable played as a silent assassin! I did notice my characters reflection in the toilet mirror and I did think of CP! I will say overall the graphics are very basic though, some lovely lighting effects in the Dubai level but my 3080 is consistently at 55% usage and 3.5gb vram at 4K/60 ultra so a very light game and no wonder the consoles can almost hit this too.

The devs missed a trick at the start of the Dubai level, it would have been cool to sky dive in rather than just appearing on a ledge!

Well, burnt out on PoE so I guess I'm buying this now

Unrelated to the game itself but the EGS is somehow messing with my DAC. When it actually DOES something all my audio is suddenly garbled until the process completes

EDIT: Can't access Hitman 2 content, I thought they went back on making us buy the game again?

If you have an Argentina EGS account you can get this for around £10 now. It's also working on Geforce Now if that matters to anyone.

I've been trying to do this, but I can't find a suitable, free proxy. Already used the trial for cyberghost, unfortunately.

I have always liked the Hitman games for those times I want a slow paced cerebral type challenge, so I was happy to purchase this knowing exactly the stype of gameplay to expect. This is more of the same and the fun is finding the many ways to eliminate the targets. Graphically it's not a massive jump over the older games but still enough to see they did improve things like lighting and reflections etc.

For me it was worth a buy but like I said I knew what to expect but if you buy this expecting a fast paced shooter where you can soak up hits then go look elsewhere. Don't get me wrong, you can fight your way through the levels and indeed part of the fun is staying alive when you mess up and th crap hits the fan. But you need to understand you will go down in a few hits with no "magic healing meds".
