Hitman Benchmark

I have to say, even though the Framerate is (according to Steam FPS counter) higher in DX11, DX12 is much smoother when playing

But DX12 causes my game to freeze randomly and the sound carries on :(

5930k
16GB Ram
Titan X SLI
Windows 10

Disable render target under DX12 settings, this fixed my lockups under DX12 mode.

I am actually enjoying this game more than I thought. It looks good as well and does run smooth. I have regedited the 60 fps lock and now running very smooth

I enjoy the gameplay, but the mechanics sometimes so dumb, i pull my hair out.

Two guys are talking to each other, one goes to the toilet, i kill him and take his uniform, going back to the other guy and he didn't notice the change....WTF ??

It's better than Absolution where ANYONE with the same uniform would think you were suspicious, even if it was the sort of organisation where you couldn't possibly know every member of staff.

This new game is a bit more forgiving. For instance the target would know all his own bodyguards and they would know each other but he wouldn't necessarily know the local security.

Couldn't agree more. Terrible AI but I am still liking the missions.

Running this @ 4k. Single or SLI 980Ti and regardless of max or min settings I get 40 - 60fps.

40fps constant in heavily populated areas and 60fps in small rooms or areas less populated.

Smooth enough gameplay but its strange how graphical settings are making no difference.

Maybe he just assumes you are another person in a similar uniform?

I agree the AI is not the brightest in fact sometimes I am able to subdue a person 5-6 feet behind another AI without being noticed. Though it is far and away above the utterly atrocious Rise of The Tomb Raider in everything but graphics and even then it's not a massive win for ROTTR. I had such high hopes fro ROTTR and it delivered nothing of worth IMHO :(

Only the EVGA Superclock and it's on a hybrid cooler as well.

Then it's obvious, AMD have designed their DX12 code to detect Nvidia hardware and cause lock ups. ;)

Honestly, from what I can see the DX12 implementation is problematic so far. Use DX11 until it is patched. It is what I am doing on my R9 Fury.

Ah, it only does it on the Training mission on the boat, didn't happen at the KGB base training one.

Wow just awful DirectX 12 performance on every GPUs and CPUs, Radeons GPUs and AMD CPUs huge lead on DirectX 12 and Async compute performance vanished overnight.

The Fury Nano is faster than a GTX980TI in both DX11 and DX12 in those graphs, and the R9 290X is almost the same as a GTX980TI,meaning the R9 390X will match it or exceed it.

That is a terrible result for the GTX980TI.

It seems in DX11 and DX12 ,in the worst cherrypicked scenario you could find the Nvidia cards are not doing that well. Add that to the relatively good showing by AMD in The Division too,its not been a very good month has it,LOL??:p

Plus all the other sites showed the total opposite. Still waiting for the async driver for my GTX960,so it can run Ashes better.

Try looking at these reviews:

http://www.computerbase.de/2016-03/hitman-benchmarks-directx-12/2/

Both using the same driver sets from the review you linked to.

Edit!!

Chap running it on his GTX980:

DX11 to DX12 performance is within a 5% margin of error on the GTX980 and if you look at the pcgameshardware you see exactly the same behaviour with the GTX980.

People have shown in this thread already that there is a lift in performance going to dx12 on radeon gpus. The higher end ones anyway. Don't see why this site shows a drop.
