Hitman Benchmark

Benchmarks in the OP running on an old build or something?

Max settings at 1080p i get

Benchmark Results:
---- CPU ----
7810 frames
68.38fps Average
12.14fps Min
197.99fps Max
14.62ms Average
5.05ms Min
82.36ms Max

Edit:This is on DX11

Interesting. That puts it up there with the Fury and 980Ti scores that PCGH got at 1080p DX11..

Were you using SMAA? Their settings say - "Max. detail incl. SMAA/SSAO, 16:1 HQ-AF; Direct X 11"

Once NVIDIA release an updated driver for Hitman, I expect NVIDIA to be back on top. No developer is willing to risk letting the game run 'badly' on NVIDIA harware, when you consider their market share %.

Funny thing is, the latest Nvidia driver is already 'Game Ready' for Hitman.

It's not really holding it's own if you compare to the above 390 which is in the same price bracket.

1080p

gtx970 = 68.38 fps dx11

390 = 77fps dx11 and 87fps dx12

This is assuming there settings are the same.

This is with same settings as the bench page used, all maxed, SMAA+SSAO, 16XAF. 390@1100

DX11:
---- CPU ----
8914 frames
78.16fps Average
7.75fps Min
270.13fps Max
12.79ms Average
3.70ms Min
129.05ms Max

DX12:
---- CPU ----
9884 frames
86.51fps Average
8.53fps Min
189.59fps Max
11.56ms Average
5.27ms Min
117.23ms Max
---- GPU ----
9881 frames
87.13fps Average
2.38fps Min
148.88fps Max
11.48ms Average
6.72ms Min
419.29ms Max

They certainly can

Still waiting for it now - my GTX960 could do with some async magic, especially for Ashes which most of my mates are interested in buying or who have bought it. Been 5 months now since the driver was meant to be released. The full version is out in a few weeks too:

I suspect we will see bugger all,and then Pascal will drop this year and it will be a touted performance improvement. But hoping they will have it in the next three weeks and I am proven wrong.

BTW,do you know when the ARK DX12 patch is coming out?? I could do with the 20% performance improvement touted!! :p

I just get crashes during loading with DX12 enabled despite it running the intro and the benchmark OK.

Crashing? I can't even get DX12 to work. :p

Just get a black screen on both the benchmark and the actual game. Tried changing settings but nothing, only way to play with DX12 seems to be putting it in windowed mode. DX11 works fine though.

Going by Steam discussions i'm not the only one, hopefully a patch will come soon to fix the teething issues.

DX11 is a stuttery mess now Ive turned it on. Low settings with a TX on a Gsync 100hz 3440x1440 monitor and its unplayable. Theres something not right I must be missing

The game defo needs patching, lots of people are having issues with it. The issues aren't exclusive to either Nvidia or AMD.
