I stood in a guard of honour for her once a few years back, she got out of the Rolls, walked past with a smile, didn't really do much small talk... Prince Philip was following behind her - did some sort of comedy wave when he came out of the car and walked past with a beaming smile. Am quite gutted I didn't get to speak to him as I was looking forward to hearing some of his rather legendary banter.
The CO photocopied and sent out some letter received after the event saying she was chuffed to see us and had a jolly good time etc....
Having said that, as much as it was a bit of a novelty to meet her the two days of preparing for the visit was a complete cake and arse party. I did my very best to avoid as many ceremonials as possible after that.
In answer to the question I'd say I was initially A, moving swiftly to B, moving swiftly to C when OP ****about kicked in then back up to B when we'd actually finished with all the BS and the visit was imminent.
