Holey Moley - A case mod

Thought I'd just join the forums... to say a huge thanks to Tom for all his hard work on my case so far

I'd have never managed anything like that.

curved rad... now theres a thought runs and ducks from Tom. No no plans for that. Will just build a small structure in the top bays to hold a rad in.

It would appear the welshys been permabanned not sure why though, so i dont think we'l ever see the results :mad:

Promoting his website too much. Had quite a few warnings but didn't stop.

I would expect he will have posted this on his site, had a quick look on the forums but couldn't see it. Not going to mention what it is though as I don't want to get in trouble myself.

ey, was meant to go dark purple... will see what it's like without the flash on... otherwise my gf has her eye on it now! Sure that I'll find something to sort it..

Erm why not strip and gut the lot of it and have it all done? Looks a bit odd in places being such a non std and custom unit to have the purple/pink and then sliver!

Non-standard and custom unit? Its a Lian-Li case. All he's done is painted it. :confused:

Does that look like paint to you?

Looking good so far.
It's an... Unusual colour... But then it is more unique than standard colours too.

Hope it looks more purple in RL tho.

Im gonna discount what you have said as my point still stands. Its not a custom designed case. Its a Lian-Li that has been modded. Theres a vast difference between custom built and modded.

But surely being customised (one of a kind) make it a custom case?

There is indeed a rather large difference.
This isn't a custom designed/built case.

But he hasn't painted it... It's adonised which involves a lot more effort/cost.
I would also like to see 95% of people on here's attempts at such a professional looking mod as the vents.
(I know mine would be wobbly!)

Some people's version of 'modding' is adding cathodes/fans and tidy cables.
That is not a mod per-se IMHO.
A mod involves altering the look/function of the case in general.

Which has been done expertly here.

Not getting at you in any way.

Just I believe welshtom deserves credit for a very nice mod.
(although subtle - You'd never know if wasn't done by Lian Li if you hadn't seen the original case)

Hi all....

Right the silver sections and some of the now purple sections will probably end up black one way or another some of the rear wasn't done due to the shear complexety of the case.

The original top for conparison looked like this...

The snail is a case mod... a customised case... a custom case not a brand new design... just a moddified one for my needs/taste

I mean does my denon pc case count as a custom case? it's a standard denon design? :rolleyes:
