holiday prices......

Me and the wife were looking at the Maldives, if you’re going to get a luxury holiday then you may as well go all out, no change from 25k over the Christmas period.. :(

Been to the US twice this year, managed to snag flights for £550 return including luggage in the BA sale in January...given the way the prices look to be going Im glad ive got a load of points and vouchers for 2027.

The Maldives is great in this respect - so many resorts of different levels you can go on pretty much any budget.

Worth spending a chunk for a two week blowout, although 25k is a little much possibly! :D

I just got back from 7 nights in Kos, £429 all inc. each.

Hotel was a bit of a dive but it's only for sleeping and "free" beer. Grounds were well kept, decent pools.

Cheapest flights I could find to Tenerife on Ryanair for our family of 4 next August were £1700-£1800. Pain!

You're probably looking too early, short haul flights are usually at their cheapest 1-3 months before. They start lowering prices once they've got all the people willing to pay top £££.

Any tricks to rebook closer the time if prices reduce?

Yeah, August prices for next summer look nuts.

May half term prices are coming in reasonable at the moment. I'm going to wait to book August until the new year. If the prices don't drop, I'll find cheap flights then an Airbnb.

We had a lovely 11 day all inclusive holiday with swim-up room 2-3 years ago and were looking to go back next year.
Was around £4k back then but now the price is over £7k and am struggling to justify the increase.
Lots of other choices of course but this ticked all the boxes and we know what we'd be getting.
First world problems, hey??

i booked pretty short notice for NYC in june, i paid £550 then 89 on upgrades nearer the time. its similar money again next year so sending it haha

Just need to look around, recently booked the flights for holiday 1 2027, Virgin Atlantic, Manchester to Vegas, 2 people, Upper Class both ways, 5.5k return cash price not using any points.

I'd take that anyday of the week as often those flight are 8 - 10k.

There always bargains to be had, especially during sales, if you can be flexible enough.

In 2019 I booked business class returns with BA to Toronto for £1500 each (companion sale so you had to be booking two tickets) and found one particular flight where the outbound was £250 extra per person for first class.

We managed to get a last minute deal to Barbados, 4 of us (one under 2), four+ star all inclusive, 7 nights, end of August. £3800 total. The deals are there but it is no where near as cheap as it used to be.
