Why would anyone want to spend money on a UK holiday at this price, when for half the cost (nearly) you can be in somewhere guaranteed to be hot: £900 for 2 adults in Lanzarote Vs £1700 for a haven caravan for two in cornwall. Has the UK priced itself out of the market ???

We've actually booked for Sept for £700 inc flight with BA, i just couldn't get over how much Haven want for an old spec caravan, its not even one of the new posh ones.

You're comparing 4 person accommodation against 2 person accommodation? Just because you book for 2 people in a 4 person caravan doesn't mean you'll get it for half the cost.

Find me a 1 bedroom 'Van. Plus the apartment can also sleep 4, two in the bedroom, and two on the sofa bed.

I doubt you'll find one.
That still doesn't mean you get it any cheaper for only 2 people than a booking of 4 people would.

A studio apartment doesn't have a bedroom. It's just 1 room.

Ah yes, sorry I was thinking of my booking which is a 1 bed apartment.

The above holiday in a 1 Bedroom apartment that sleeps 4 is £1,028 - inc flights

It's just about fairly comparing..
Using an extreme example where you are paying for 4 irrespective of a smaller party size is being a bit dishonest...

How about you just rent a cottage for '2' in cornwall instead for £539?? one that is commensurate with your party size?

if we are fairly comparing, the cottage needs to be 1 min walk from the beach.

I must say I do love Devon, and especially Cornwall. if there was decent paid work in the IT world in Cornwall i'd move there like a shot. but Alas no, so i have so go there when ever i can. But this year back to the land of permanent sunshine in the Canairies, for a dirt cheap price. Win Win.
