Holy Hell OcUK!!!

Got mine sitting at 250x12 now, 1.4 Vcore, Idle 35ºC Load 49ºC

Best £88 I ever spent, and leaps above my old 3000+ @ 2.2Ghz :D

This should last me at least a year

Got mine to 250x12 at 1.375vcore last night after a few stop starts

Given this is my first overclock and the performance increase for the price I am so happy :D

Just wanted to say thanks for all the advice in the thread, it's been a great help  On to my memory now

i currently own a sd 4000,and its running at stock at the mo, but after reading this thread its time i learnt how to overclock just too see what its capable of

Thats sensational Setter.

I recon with a good cooler and a little volts there's deffo more to be had. Possible 3.2

It's been a day or two, go on you know you want to :p

Once you go past 3.1 ghz I found you really need to get better cooling. Any further than where my cpu is at now results in crashes once a task which uses 100% cpu for more than about 15 mins, the heat makes it unstable. Under good cooling(phase) this exact stepping can do 3.6ghz and on water it can do around 3.4ghz, peeps have done this on xtreme forums.

Sorry to be a bit miserable here guys - but all this fancy cooling, extreme temperatures and what not yet...... the core2 still beats them for super pi with a modest overclock.

Lol :p Sorry but that made me laugh

Fancy cooling - Freezer64 Pro (air)
Extreme temperatures - 52c MAX full load

Cheap Air cooler for £17, not sure how that can be fancy. Temperatures whilst running at these speeds are nowhere near extreme. Even if I have been gaming for hours on end my cpu temp doesnt go past 51/52c.

When this chip was £90 it was definatley a better performance upgrade over going conroe, for price/performance at least.

Upgrade 1: New Skt939 CPU (£90)
Upgrade 2: Conroe CPU, New Mobo, New Ram, New PSU possibly.

playing super-pi gets boring pretty quickly :D

ppl do get carried away when they see this benchmark ...yes c2d is faster than a64 clock for clock but not twice as fast as super-pi would have u believe. ;)

It also costs over £300 just to upgrade....
