Homeworld 3!!!!!! Well kinda.. :)

Plus there's a big rebalance mod by the devs I think its on workshop ATM. Also they ripped out the old movement code and wrote a new one so that hw1 movement and formations work more like the original instead of using hw2 movement code for hw1 gameplay. Will affect hw2 but dunno to what degree yet. Due soon they say.

Ah. That sounds cool. I read some of the reviews about the HW 1 Remaster and people were complaining about that. Nice to know that the devs are working on a fix.

I'm almost positive I'm going to get it now.
 
I'm much more impressed now, the more recent videos look far better than the gameplay shown in the earlier trailers.

Still, no point me pre-ordering this as I've barely touched Homeworld Remastered yet!
 
Well I went ahead and pre-ordered this. Glad I managed to get the Homeworld Remastered Collection for free along with it. 3 games for £30 can't really complain and hopefully they'll give me lots of enjoyment over the coming weeks.

Edit: Oh anyone who has got this game add me on Steam. I'd like to play some multiplayer games of it. If you'd like to play some multiplayer games as well let me know.

I quite like the bloke, and I appreciate his style, but I can understand why people don't.

Poor sod's got terminal cancer though, so people will be extra defensive of him.....

Certainly not saying that's any reason to change your opinion of him, just explaining why you're likely to get heat for mugging him off.
That and the fact the post wasn't constructive to the thread, just a personal attack...

Back OT, I haven't bought it. It's on my wish list, but I'll keep an eye on this thread for first hand opinions before I invest.
Huge HW fan, but was pretty gutted with the HD 'remaster'. HW1 was built in a modified HW2 engine, meaning it didn't play like HW1.

I did play the original verion that came with it though, and the fact that works on my 2015 rig is reason enough for me to be chuffed with my purchase :)
 
I decided to grab whilst it was on offer for £23 and so far it's not too shabby.

I'm through the tutorial and onto mission 3 of the campaign and it defo retains that 'homeworld' feel. The cut scenes are fantastic with the overall graphical style working really well. Gameplay is okay, I haven't tested the AI in a skirmish yet but so far no complaints.

I fired it up for a quick hour last night too. They have nailed the Homeworld vibe perfectly, you can definitely tell they have some of the original developers in the team.

I actually like the desert setting too, I'm about to start Mission #3.
