20 year old Accord driver? How you find it on insurance? Is it 8 or 9 something like that?

Grr... Sitting waiting for a latop to arrive then I'm popping up to the local car dealer to have a gander.

The 2.0 is group 11 or 12. When I was 20 with 0NCB I paid over £2k to insure mine :o

£700 now @ 22 with 2NCB.

I have a 2.0 exec and have found it excellent to drive, very reliable and the toys are great. Can't live without heated seats now :)

Only a couple of niggles :

As a saloon it's not as practical as some others. Even though the rear seats fold, they don't go flat and the aperture into the boot is very small. In addition to the wheel arches intruding a lot, the aperture is further restricted by a big triangular bit of metal on either side.

My wife is 5'4" and finds it really difficult to judge the extent of the car - parking would be a nightmare for her without rear parking sensors. The window line comes quite high and she can't stick her head out of the window to check when reversing!

This is for the 2003 model, so you'd probably find it tricky to get one within your price range and mileage. Definitely FSH is a must for these.

Research the service intervals on each model. If a car a has a 60k cambelt service interval, I'd buy a 70k car that had had the job done than a 50k car that needed it doing.

But there's an argument for getting that 50k that needs it doing.

1. You could use it as a bargaining tool.
2. When you get it done in the garage, they can check/change other parts e.g water pump etc That may or may not have been done by the PO.
3. This way you'll have longer before it needs doing again.
4. Safe in the knowledge that is was done by a garage you trust by etc etc

Fair point, but even I would struggle to keep a straight face trying to get a garage to pay for a cambelt change that isn't due for ten thousand miles.
