HOPEFULLY LESS THAN A YEAR WAIT: New 2018 (MY18) S550.2 Mustang V8 10-speed ordered

OK this has to be one of the best review video's I've seen yet, guessing he owns the car as it looks like he customised the digital dash with his own colours.

Also skip to 16 minutes and look how quick and responsive it is on the paddles when the car is correctly in S mode, that looks pretty responsive to me on both upshift and downshift.

Car in auto seems a bit odd, but not overly fussed by that as I love paddle shifters.

He also does a track apps 0-60 run, gets 4s flat and I think he might be changing gear manually even though its in drag mode, but not sure:

Not bad as the car does not have recaro, forged wheels or mag ride, so those optioned out cars will be even quicker. :D

He says its quicker than 350 and feels quicker then the Vette too, this gen3 Coyote seems a lot more potent, then combined with A10 its a bit of a performance king it seems.

Cannot wait to see what these things do with a tune on them, gonna be in the 11's at over 120mph for sure on street tyre. :)

2018 (MY18) Ford UK Mustang on the road pricing

2.3 M6 = £34,795
2.3 A10 = £37,595
5.0 M6 = £41,095
5.0 A10 = £43,095
5.0 A10 Convertible = £46,595

This is rumoured pricing but from a solid source, seems a little more expensive than hoped as it puts GT's in the £450 per year car tax bracket.

I would estimate the options to cost as follows:
- Custom pack 1 or 2: £1195
- Custom pack 3 or 4 (includes forged wheels): £1695
- Rear performance pack spoiler: £695 (not available for order until January 2018, so around June delivery)
- Magnetic ride suspension: £1395
- Recaro seats: £995
- Black painted roof: £495
- Paint options £495 and £795 for TY and OF

Still at 41k its a lot of car, remember now you get active DRL's, active exhaust, digital dash and more power etc. as standard. The real must have option being magnetic ride control.

Yeah it's the P11D price which is used for the £40k VED threshold. The GT was always going to be well north of £40k once decently specced so not much point trying to get the base price under that.

Probably Ford's thinking, I doubt very few people will just order a GT with zero options. Though the good news is from the reviews I've read it seems Ford solved the rear floaty end even without having to option magneride option, so seems they will be a better handling car out the box, of course helped a lot by the addition of Michelin PS4s over the quite frankly dreadful Pzero they used to come with.

Not an MY18 but a very compelling review about mag ride, really for me its the most important option on the new car if you also want the car to have superb handling out the box.

It is Black Friday, I am trying to buy parts for MY18 and I seriously can't think of much to buy. When my last one was on the way, I think I had spent around $5000 in buying parts over Black Friday period, I had total FRPP suspension, Corsa exhaust, other suspension parts, styling parts.

This time I am really struggling and the only must have item I want to buy if discounted is a set of 350 lowering springs for the mag ride. :)

Your sauce has given you OTR price, not price inclusive of tax hasn't he? Or atleast when I spoke to him that was it. I've checked our internal leasing systems and it's 41k OTR.... But our leasing is usually about 2931939139 lightyears behind everything else lol! That'll keep it, with initial tax, under the 40k, keeping it at the "Lower" tax band, assuming NO OPTIONS. as I believe that's £2k of the cost, making it a £39k car. Naturally I doubt many if any will have a base model. and even someone as frugal as myself would have the recaros, (roof I can get painted cheaper), mag ride and A10 for the performance.

Couple of bits to cover off...

EB (2.3) are unconfirmed prices, and speculative. and only a small rise on current. also rebranded 'mustang' the 5.0 has been named 'gt'. EB On our system (note point above) is still standard, MY18 matches these.

Mag ride and other optional extras are fords profit margin for these to keep the cost lower, so I expect the prices listed, to be way up on what you've got there (more like 1500 recaros and 2k for mag ride notably, the spoiler and others no idea, expect the roof to stay around the same). That was satted to me by a reliable sauce within Ford
Also only one "free" colour - red.
Forged wheels I doubt will be a +500 onto the custom pack, or on their own, this is ford, their standard wheels are 300 a corner (after market).

As ever, it's speculative :D

Also, yes, I intended to right sauce, because this is Heinz and HP level, not big daddys. ;)!

Ford UK have informed me the tax is calculated based on OTR price. So yes the car is 41K OTR for 5.0 M6, this also means its £450 per year to tax and not £140, this is what Ford told me, maybe they are wrong?

My prices are pretty much spot on for the options, your forgetting when deleting the regular seats, you also delete AC/Heated seat options, as such the cost to change from stock to Recaro is not so much.

Magneride is a $1695 option, the USD generally converts 1:1 with GBP or a little less, the MY15-17 options were pretty much in this fashion with the odd one either £100 under or £100 over.

I've also being incredibly generous to Ford UK on paint options, these will no doubt be less, so where I lose on one, I make up on another, total price should still be the same outcome of around 47k. :)

My car won't be built though until late December or January, because I've selected Recaro seats and a black roof, such optioned cars are not being built right now and the Black roof option is not allowed on the US configurator with PP and without black emblem pack, yet on UK you can pick this like we could on MY15-17. No rush from my side anyway, May is my ideal collection time and I want it no earlier than March.

See Ford before, when the initial rise came with tax, told us otherwise. That it was pre OTR calculated the tax value (at 2k) ofc if it was below, they'd rather say otherwise, but I think Ben (slowhand) or someone like that on 6g pulled the facts off HMRC's site and it was pre otr, or that's what I remembered!!!

We'll see on options, have you seen how much it is to buy GT350 seats???? Or even recaro's in general, ford will mark them up, at a grand, they're cheap, but we'll see really.. I expect them more on the 1500 side of it. Even if it removes heated and cooled, it's irrelevant. as if you option a recaro onto a stock car (that doesn't have heated and cooled seats) it'd cos the same as optionining it onto a custom pack less heated and cooled seats. so it has to be the same for both.

UK:US is a 1:1, however ford are marking up extra's so expecting it to go up on mag and auto both around the 2k area as an option knowing they'll be the popular picks with recaros, custom packs and the "Normal" (current extras) I expect to stay the same price, however the forged wheels one, we'll see.

We shall see.
Recaro's are an £1145 option on the Focus RS which is a hard shell backed Recaro, typically more expensive as more racing orientated. Again I expect them to sit £995 - £1495 as an optional extra on Mustang.

I suspect the auto is where they will add the most extra as they know Europeans will go for a decent automatic over a manual if its good, the A6 was not good hence the high percentage of manual purchases, the A10 is supposed to be far superior so expect a much higher uptake and so Ford will try to get away with charging more.

I want to spend around 47k, I will end up taking a bath depreciation wise as it is, Ford need to be reasonable if the car exceeds 50 grand with the must have options I fear its getting to close in price to some of the fast stuff from BMW, we shall have to see.

Forged wheels (custom pack 3/4) I do not mind paying a little extra for, as long as its a little, I still feel the Black PP wheels look better, but no one has painted the forged wheels black or shadow chrome so its hard to tell, but if Ford want more than £500 extra then I will just save money and option the PP wheels and then buy my own set of wheels that I really like.

Ford 2018 UK Mustang Pricing - Now Official!

EB M6 Coupe: £35,995
EB A10 Coupe: £37,595

V8 M6 Coupe: £41,095
V8 A10 Coupe: £43,095

This confirms the lease pricing which was leaked. :)

Official option pricing

- Custom Pack 1 & 2: £1495
- Custom Pack 3 & 4 (forged wheels): £2295
- Recaro Seats: £1795 (£1400 if custom pack selected)
- Orange Fury / Triple Yellow paint: £795
- Magnetic Ride: £1600
- Black painted roof: £500
- Forged wheels: £795
- Spoiler: £350 (cannot be ordered until January)

I changed to custom pack 2, to me the forged wheels are not worth £700 extra, as such my car total cost is £48,885 so essentially 50k for a Ford, puts it right into BMW M2 territory, Audi RS3, TT RS, A45 AMG, but its a unique car, with a V8 and looks flipping amazing compared to the European stuff on the road in similar price category.

Whats your full options youve decided on now?

All of them, pretty much. :D

V8 A10 Coupe £43,095
- Mag ride: £1600 (GT 350 full suspension setup more or less, lower arms, counter wound springs, dampers, anti roll bars etc)
- Recaro: £1400
- Custom Pack 2: £1495 (Shaker Pro, Sync 3, NAV, extra leather, black PP wheels, black trim)
- Orange Fury: £795
- Black painted roof: £495

Total: £48,885

Custom pack 4 includes forged wheels, I do not think they are worth £700 more as I dislike the design and colour, so I can put that £700 towards my own set.
Don't want the spoiler as not keen on it, will buy and fit my own spoiler.

Car comes with active exhaust which is loud as standard, digital dash, DRL's, heated wheel, lane assist, radar cruise and a load of other junk.

Official factory performance is claimed to be:
0-60: 3.9s (A10 only) Manual is 4.4s
0-100: 8.5s (A10 only)
1/4 mile: 11.9@119mph (A10 only)

Peak power at 7500rpm so it loves to rev which is kind of power band I like and NA response.

No real big mods planned for this one, simply as it comes a lot more sorted from Ford, the most important option is mag ride for the handling upgrades and the A10 if you want to go quicker. Though the new manual is now improved!

Sounds fantastic, a lot of car for the money, when do you take delivery ;)?

First cars are being built December 4th, but I really wanted the Recaro seats and black painted roof, as such that will probably delay the build by a month or so. I expect delivery around April. :)

Woot! Grats Gibbo, cant wait to see it at a meet! (and take me out for a run :D)

Will be taking it to as many meets as I can, it will be rare and stand out like a giant orange. Will be taking it to Pod, be determined to put it in the 11's though I sense the automatic in this will not be as easy as the Golf which is just a case of foot on brake, floor gas to activate LC and release brake and hold on haha. Mustang does not have LC, so have to hold it on brake myself and experiment.

Want to get it round Curborough as well see how effective this GT 350 mag ride is.

Golf should be an easy sale, got two guys at work fighting over it, lol. But I think that Golf might be the best sub 20k all round car I've owned and certainly the quickest car I've owned, stupid little thing. :D

The first cars are the Hero spec dealer vehicles from 4th Dec... Ours is being built 11th Dec so I wouldnt expect to see yours until late April into May...

Fine by me, am in no rush. I am sitting on 684 litecoins that I am prepared to sell but with bitcoin increasing daily I am holding off, but as things stand they are now worth enough to actually pay for the car. I knew mining was worth it, or maybe I just forgot I had that stash of coins. :D
