Horror games

I've just started playing Amnesia. I've just had to turn it off. I think it's going to be one of those games that I can't play unless I have someone sat with me. :(

Just to help people out with Amnesia, and this makes a massive difference for people who don't play it this way. The only way to play Amnesia is firstly at night and/or in a darkened room. And secondly and most importantly, with a good quality pair of headphones turned up loud. If you dont have good headphones, good quality speakers will do. The main thing is the sound has to be very loud, and there must be no background noise to interfere with the game. If you can hear your next door neighbours telly or kids screaming in the background your gonna lose all the effect the game builds. Being on your own also adds to the immersion. For those of you who have never played the game like that, give it a try, and good luck!

It's absolutely ******* terrifying.

Sat in the dark, headphones cranked, and considering I make some of my living through a specialism in horror I'd considered myself pretty jaded...

... I ended up, at one point, crouched behind a pile of boxes, literally frozen with abject terror -- I just couldn't look, couldn't move, didn't want to. Pretty much did its job right there!

That's also the best way of bringing on a self-induced heart attack. :p

As above

While I can agree it't scary...It does however do a good job of getting your heart racing, and literally makes you shiver while trying to run away from something and attempting to hide.

You can't fight in this, you have run and hope to God the damn thing doesn't see you. The worst part is NOT seeing anything, although in reality that's the safest thing you can do, yet it's still creepy as hell to look around each corner before advancing.

I love it personally. There was a game before Amnesia as well I believe?
