Horsemeat

I've felt shocking since eating those Tesco burgers. Just been to the doctors though and he says my condition is stable.

Unexpected item in bagging area...

Some of those frozen burgers are pathetic though, even the ones that claim to be large and quarter pounder are always terribly thin and pathetic.

M&S used to sell these realy thick non frozen burgers but they have since converted the two pack of thick burgers in to a four pack of pathetic little things that shrivel up when you cook them.

Ill try meat from most animals but I don't like eating strange body parts, as long as it is the standard body parts i will try it. But you just know with these burgers they just shredd a load of offcuts and mince it up and spice it with crap and then make pathetic little burgers and sell them for £2.50 for a pack of four.

Don't see what the issue is. A horse is pretty much a cow any way, they both have four legs, both stand in a field eating grass, only major difference is their colour. If you painted a horse black and white I bet some people would think it was a cow!

lol fair play.

tbh people should just buy good mince and make their own. It takes seconds and you can add what the hell you want. Mine are usually.

Red onion
Salt
Pepper

Form into a patty, chill and Grill/BBQ. Job done and so tasty.

Tried this a few times and they don't taste that good imo and tend to crumble apart. Maybe to do with the fact I used Tesco mince that probably also contains Horse meat..

Will have to give it a go some time with some mince from the butchers. Or even just buy some burgers from the butchers.

You have added the egg, haven't you?

If yes, another way to help them stay together is make them into patties and leave them in the fridge for a few hours.

If they're crumbling, try binding them with an egg.

As in, add your mince, salt, pepper, finely diced onion to a bowl.

I also throw in smoked paprika, occasionally some finely diced red and green peppers, garlic powder and a pinch of cumin. Splash in some Worcestershire Sauce (and hot sauce if you like some spice).

Mix it all together, make a trough and crack an egg into it. Mix it all together well again and form into patties. Whack the patties onto the BBQ, grill, or griddle, and cook to taste. Depending on the size, just be careful when flipping them. :)

Just checked the tesco burgers in the fridge ... and they're off!

A german supermarket are bringing out a new range of burgers called my lidl pony.

I was in the cafe in tesco ordering my food and the waitress asked if i wanted anything on my burger, so i had a fiver each way.

How do you know what's in the mince?
