Hostel *Spoilers*

See this is what I dont agree about films which pimp Tarantinos name about (which he obviously allows them too) on the adverts and trailers to basically con people into thinking it was one of "his" films (same thing with Hero if I remember rightly).

Quentin Tarantino was "executive producer" for Hostel i.e he had **** all to do with writing or directing it that was Eli Roths job.

it did help me break a pr0n barrier with the new girl i am seeing though :)

hahahaha, awesome. i was a little less subtle...i broke it by saying "hey, do you want to watch some pr0n?" luckily it had a similar effect :p

i agree, this really gets on my nerves. i've been asked so many times if i've seen tarantino's latest films. the first time i said "kill bill 1 and 2?", now i just say "hero and hostel arent tarantino films"...i dont know how he's managed to get this repuation as an amazing writer/director as Pulp Fiction (imho of course) is the only above-par film he's actually ever produced. there's a lot better writers/directors about than him, but he seems to have gained this amazing reputation from somewhere (i should probably point out that i've not seen Jackie Brown...it must be bloody awesome)

yep,im of the same opinion as a lot of others here........
utter tripe. did tarantino really put his name to this? oh dear
as said,no character development(in fact i wanted the idiots to die!)
and the "escape" of the third guy and then going back!! ..yeah right!
anyway, imo saw 2 is way better for gore/shocks than this effort.
regards,
steve.

I will say a :o thanks for informing me of this. I don't take much notice of the advertising etc and had just picked up on Tarantinos' name. I know better now and will avoid it after the reviews here. Yes despite the Norks. ;)

Was just about to post this, Tarantino only agreed to add his "name" to the film to boost sales, he in no way directed this crud.

At this moment I'm looking over at a bloke who's got all his work tools neatly spread out on his bench and he's giving me the creeps.

I completely agree with most people on here. It was utter tripe. I've seen more gore in an episode of rainbow!

The only good point about the film was the lovely ladies in it! I was so hoping for the girl behind the counter at the hostel to get her kit off! :(

Omg I thought I was gonna be sick. Like seriously.

Only good thing about that movie was the eye candy. After that things just went completely wrong.

I'm not so good with the cutting of bodyparts. So when his hand got chopped off yea then. And when that kid hammered the guys head with the stone and his head sunk in. And that girls eyeball

I'm sorry but they were laughable. Particularly the head collapsing in... like it was a week old flan! It's a skull FFS! :D

Im sorry but I just dont do gore. My imagination works harder than the directors ever do to create that stuff :p

I like Lumocolor.
He/she just named all my favorite scare films :D

But as for Hostel..... christ that was .....soooo......... avarage ?

I felt nothing for the characters/situations.
It was just like a void but filled with blood and boobs.
A complete waste of time !!!!

3 out of 5 for its pure avarageness.

Since when would you get yellow goo/puss ooze from cuting the optical nerve etc? Was hoping for so much more from this film :( What imput did Tarrantino have on this film, does anyone look or did someone just pay him a massive amount of money to have his name on it  Glad i didn't pay to see it!

i've just watched the film.

thought it was ok, not the scariest film ever but some scenes i thought were really good (aside from the naked lady ones which were awesome :p ) such as when the main guy is in the chair with a hood on and can only see bits of the room, pretty terrifying situation to be in.

i'll have to be careful when i go travelling in a coupla months :D
