im a propper southerner but you notherners do some things in a strange but delicious way ie cheese on fruitcake, this is the same principle, hot cross buns, with salted butter and a slab of cheddar. surprisingly tastey.

Where I work we do the main flavour ingredient "bun spice".
Was agony a few weeks back as they were doing some baking as they make up the actual product for testing. I was hoping to be invited to the taste testing, didnt happen

Tested some new crisp flavour the other week (don't think its out yet so won't mention the flavour or company), and today cola. Pretty sure one was Coke, one pepsi and the third tasted like rats ****, so I guess it was a value cola lol.

Oh and BTW

There is only one true way, toasted then with a decent blob of butter, just enough to soak the middle without creating a soggy mess.
They are tolerable not toasted but a bit dry without butter.
