How about a Linux gallery?

First Arch screenie :)

Not sure why the actual image is tiny. I'll edit when I turn that machine back on :p

What WM is that, gumbald?

Updated the screenshot, not that it shows much more.

Arch + Fluxbox is nice, still getting used to not just having most things that I would expect on Ubuntu to be already installed. Pacman is easy enough to use though.

Discovered 'alltray' in order to keep Thunderbird minimized to the tray near the clock. Adds about half a second to the startx load time to put Thunderbird in memory, I can cope with that ;)

EDIT: well done on the MoH, figured I should congratulate you personally!

My latest Ubuntu 7.10 desktop, using the mac4lin package and heavily customizing the rest. some work to do on conky before i show that off but this has already taken 5 hours and i need a break :D

Freshly installed Xubuntu on a new drive I picked up, so not really customised it yet... but I liked this backdrop I saw over at Interfacelift.

Looks good, tntcoder. What's the eee like? I've got some Bonusbond vouchers from work that I'm thinking of using to get an eee. Just waiting to be able to see one for real, before I make my mind up.

Yer its a decent little gadget, you just have to remember it isnt a desktop replacement, it comes underclocked at about 600 odd Mhz, but this is more than enough for simple tasks like browsing/word processing etc, very handy for working on the train for example given its small size. Plays movies and music well too. :)

Do you have 24-bit colour on the desktop? I have 24-bit in xorg.conf and it's confirmed in the log, but my wallpaper looks like it's 8-bit. 16-bit setting looks ok, though.

I'm using feh to set the background ( jpeg ).

I'm not anywhere near my computer at the moment, I'll get back to you when I am :)

Yes, XF86Config says 24-bit, which log you want me to check?

Thats what I stare at most days at work, possibly usually with an RT ticket open behind it, or a relevant page I've dug up to do with whatever task I'm working on.

for the record, Debian Etch, Gnome, with the Yakuake console program running.

To me... that looks amazing. I love it.

HERE's my daughters desktop ( She's ten) I've just finished building her New Comp

We can't get any effects to work on our Ubuntu machine though... Must be something to do with the ati X700 card in here. We are running the restricted drivers though. It was an X800 but that caught fire !!
