They removed the achievement milestone weapon unlock for about 1-2days when they introduced the random drops (syp vs sniper update?) hopping for less update class spam, people rightly complained that one guy could play the game for 10minutes and get the new unlocks but Mr TF2 pro could play for hours and have all the achievments and have nothing, so they put it back in.
 
I used to REALLY like TF2, but all this crafting, hat trading, boss characters rubbish taken from WoW really annoys me.

The new weapon updates are still interesting though, but I do with they'd put some more effort into other areas of the game.
 
yea this trading and pay per items sucks ass, i quit about 6 hours after that update!
Prob can thank all this dlc we get with games now!

Really? I haven't had much trouble against it. My scout 1v1 isn't that great but I can usually kill other scouts using it. Scattergun is still the best imo.

Yeah man, those noisemakers are so op. I feel so useless not being able to play a sound file 25 times for £0.30. I can't compete with anyone anymore without paying money. :(:(

Its not 1v1 scout thats the problem since that usually never goes my way anyway, its basically any class where the shortstop will kill you in a couple of shots from mid range and theres jack **** you can do to stop it.

I'm starting to agree that the Direct Hit is just ridiculous too... compared to that the original Rocket Launcher is just pathetic. Its just depressing when i try to play Soldier to watch my rocket travel at a snails pace and some allies blitz past it before the enemy can move.

Hmm, well I don't really have a problem with scouts since I play soldier and scouts are pretty easy to deal with unless they're good. As for the direct hit, I wouldn't worry about it. It's a terrible weapon really. It has such a massive damage fall off and it's not a hitscan weapon, so the chances of hitting something further than 10 feet away is horribly small - especially with the pathetic splash damage. If you want to shoot something far away as soldier, you just rocket jump towards them aggressively. They will poo themselves. :p

You assume i'm any good at TF2 :p I'd rate myself average, lol.
 
Oh? What was your IGN? I was just searching for random servers with a low ping that weren't playing the Halloween Manor map (seriously i'm getting sick of playing against teams consisting of 75% scouts. It was severely spoiling my achievement whoring for Soldier :p

On that note i fail at getting the 'highest' rocket jump...

Why is everyone a scout on that map? Is it to get the presents?

Ah, rocket jumps. My specialty. :D

Crouch + jump + shoot at the same time while looking down to get the highest jump straight up. To get a fast jump forward, you need to turn in an arc downwards and to the right, let go of w and press a as you're turning so you're still going forward (hard to explain but it makes sense - you just need to be walking forward but by pressing a instead of w) and shoot a little bit behind you. Still jumping and crouching and shooting at the exact same time. The further behind you you shoot, the lower and faster you will go.

Also, when rocket jumping you should hold crouch all the time. Never let go of crouch once you leave the ground. You'll have more control in the air and your jumps will go higher and further. It might feel weird at first holding crouch all the time but you'll get used to it.


Look at where this guys aims and copy it.

Played this for an hour or so last night after not playing this (or any other PC game really) for over a year...forgot what good fun it is. Completely mental at times, love just charging in to a chaotic firefight. I spend so much time dying, but its so fun I dont mind; it helps that there are genuinely funny aspects of the game, it's the only game where I can get killed and end up chuckling about it, rather than ragequitting :D

It's the only weapon in the game that really chafes my nipples. :mad: I traded for one on Sunday so I'm going to get my revenge on the legions of Shortstop-wielding scouts! (Well...I'd like to, but I'm a terrible Scout)

GTFO! This thread is for people raging that this is now the worst game ever after valve added new weapons/achievements/hats/new maps/patches 3 years after release.
