Totally depends on the situation, passing by someone I will keep it short and sweet, sometimes even just give them the 'nod' and a quick 'alreet'.
Bumping in to people who I generally know enough to hold a conversation with, I will delve in further, hows tricks? you still see much of such and such? etc.
