A few of the answers to that are very incorrect. And as for the shark, I would most certainly swim as fast as I could if land was nearby, otherwise I might submerse myself and hope for the best.

i think the first one was silly, yes a dog is less likely to attack you if you are stood still, but what if the dog wants to attack you anyway? :rolleyes:

get the dog in a headlock and choke the ****er to death possibly punching it in the head at the same time.

Exactly, but shouting 'STOP!' is supposed to work half the time so I would want to try that first, otherwise rap clothing around my arm and let it leech on to that first before beating it sensless.

Not really, they can only swim in straight lines. So sharp changes in direction are sufficient! :cool:

That IS the wrong thing to do. Distressed, frenzied motion and splashing will attract the shark to you even more so.

Yes if a shark is a safe distance away, otherwise you are better off trying to scare it - but it works better with a group of people. Depending where you are you can scare some sharks away with a jab on the nose.

Well you would just attract attention to yourself doing that and to say sharks can only swim in straights line may be correct but to say you could out swim it I hardly doubt it possible.

Large sharks especially find it hard to turn and stop, and as for the 'I would swim as fast as I could' comment, that is based on me close to land - that is me taking my chances as I am a strong swimmer, and me risking my life. I do not condone it

Would you say that if you were a veteran in disarming people? I know with enough practise you can very quickly disarm a pistol or rifle from someone and use it against them. I would be more worried about a knife in that situation.

Well... this book would definately extend your life span and it covers almost everything, including how to survive nuclear fallout
