what ?? why?? a swiss army knife can do EVERYTHING!!!!! even comes with a toothpick!!! :D

Although they are nice and worth the money, I would favor a real man's knife.

'Ya call that a knife!? This... is a knife!'

I own this:

Bit too big for me, looking in to a smaller folding knife that could be used for skinning rabbits :o

10/17 for me, but some of the answers don’t make sense.

Exactly, but shouting 'STOP!' is supposed to work half the time so I would want to try that first

It worked for me when a dog came running at me once when I was on delivery.

If a dog wants to attack you it will, so you’re best trying to defend yourself (if you can’t get away safely), I’ve heard pulling the front legs apart is supposed to work, but don't quote me on that. ;)

16/17 but disagree with certain answers, unless a tornado can top 100mph in straight lines, I am not going to get out of a car and wait for it to come to me .

Sharks...
1 shark = target for knife... give the others something else that's bleeding to circle in on ;) (this is humour)

more seriously, most situations when you were out in water with sharks, you would have a knife (ie diving), so handle is a good solid whacking item.

Dogs:
A dog wouldn't normally go for you without any warning whatsoever, would deffo be aiming to give my arm as a target, while trying to grab collar if possible. (and choke it)

17 / 17 - I will live forever.

though like all thinks like this, the you jus put in the most obvious answer, the real world anwer.

What would you do if a vicious dog came at you.
Kak your pants.

What would you do if a Tornado came at you.
Kak your pants.

What would you do if a Bank robber came at you
Kak your pants

what would you do if a Shark came at you
Kak your trunks.

13/17 - I'm alive!

I fell down on the shark ones and one of the plane questiosn. Locating a life raft seemed sensible to me, guess not for the authors. :p

The real answers

15/17 here. If I get attacked by a shark in a tornado - I'm in trouble!

12/17. I remember reading that if you grab a dog's two front legs and pull them open it splits their heart, killing them instantly. I think I'll remember that in future!
The other thing to remember is that this works much better from behind the animal. Doing it from in front has the downside of bringing it's jaws right in close to your face and neck - the very target it is aiming for. And if one or both hands slip it is also inside your defences and changing your underwear will be the least of your worries!

i think the first one was silly, yes a dog is less likely to attack you if you are stood still, but what if the dog wants to attack you anyway? get the dog in a headlock and choke the ****er to death possibly punching it in the head at the same time.
I think it means the best way of avoiding being attacked if the animal is uncertain whether you are a threat or not. Obviously if it's definitely going to attack then flight or fight is the decision to make. And as they're quicker than us (but can't climb trees, fences, ladders, etc) flight isn't usually the best option. Also, as dogs (and wolves) are most effective hunters when running down prey from the rear, and humans are at their defensive best with the threat directly in front of them, facing a threat is the option I'd choose also in the scenario you describe.

Easy enough to do both simultaneously if the dog is definitely attacking.
Unless you're carrying your coat over your arm, you may not have time to pad your arm. Bike leather 4tw!
