I think there's questionable legality in certain banks charging you for going into the red.
People getting charged £30 for going £10 in the red for example, causing them to then go £40 in the red. Those with staggered cash flow might find it difficult to pay off the overdraft immediately, so the bank charge another £30 taking them £70 in the red. People argue that it's not fair and is making it very difficult for people to pay the bank bank as the bank themselves keep pushing them further down and making the situation worse.
