How did you find overclockers? website I mean

I remember the very original overclockers website, and original forum I was a member of prior to this one being created in 2002. I didn't join this newer forum till a year or so after it was created, when I needed to upgrade.

There was another company with a similar name though based in Sheffield? I think it went bust, I did buy some parts from them around year 2000.

From what I remember it when I was looking for a graphics card upgrade (When the AMD 7870 and GTX 670 were new.) Did a bit of shopping around and ended up here.

I remember the company from what must have been the early 2000’s and by the mid-2000’s I was living nearby in Trentham.

Now live 5 mins away from the current shop, so tend to buy bits and pieces from OCUK as I can click and collect.

Overclockers and Autobrite seem to be two of the notable local business’ that I’ve seen grow over the years.

I have been a member of the forums and i had purchased from Overclockers for over 20 years. I think the first thing i ever purchased from them was a AMD CPU that you had to drill into to sever one of the connections to overclock it.. :D

I was looking for non standard cooling stuff that was closer to home than 3DFX Cool. Yeah, I bought an industrial fan attached to a bit of tin... Imagine I used a search engine and it came up somewhere between Star Trek, Porn and Star Trek Porn.

I remember my old , late friend Tosh telling me about OC/U.K. back in the GeForce 2 days, then discovered they had a forum….

The rest has been an interesting history.

Used to do strange deals with using HB pencils to overclock by drawing on the cpu lol. Somebody at tech support desk I was at mentioned them I think, something about a 10 thermistor controlled multiple fan dynamic airflow case, never did get that one ideal setup but I got the 2 quid bargain basement ali hsf and amd cpu pencil trick deal, nobody else did that

Haha yeah I think it was overclocker *singular*?

It got confusing keeping all those sites in your head back then...

GeForce 2. All the rage for GeForce 2 MX and Ultra. Those were the days.

In the early to mid 2000s I got fed up of the UK's then biggest online computer store (can't name them as they amazingly still exist) sending everything by CityLink, who insisted on taking every missed parcel to a depo 2 hours away despite having one 45mins away. So I searched for an online store that used DPD (who had a depo ~2 miles from my house and allowed collection pretty much 24/7) OCUK was the first that I found.
