noticed the vectra was looking a bit filthy tonight during the stripping of the waterpump, last time it was washed was the 1.10.10 when i got it back from the bodyhop or 4500 miles ago

think what made it worse was when i went to cover the wings only to find the oily finger marks from when i changed the clutch 3 weeks ago ;)

anyone else not bothering atm?

i'll post some pics up when i come back from the workshop tommorow, the front wheels have a good 1/2 thick layer of brake dust gathering

I haven't washed mine in several months... but then again, my car is a mode of transport, not my "office".

I cleaned my old focus at the weekend ready to ebay and it was filthy. I think the last time i cleaned it before then was probably april. The 407 I cleaned a couple of weeks back and its starting to look pretty murky already so will probably give it a quick wash sometime this week.

How do you guys manage to not clean cars? A few weeks ago mine hadn't been done for a couple of weeks and it was filthy. Every time I went into the boot I had to wash my hands it was that grubby. How do you put up with that?

For the focus it was the i don't give a crap about this car. The reason I haven't cleaned the 407 is the fact I'm currently working about all the daytime there is, so when i get back its dark, plus having a 3 month old baby kind of takes your time up too :)

Just can't be bothered? Mine hasn't been washed since August.

One of mine is kept in a lockup, which means no bird crap and no road dirt. Never really need to clean that at all.

My daily driver is such a piece of crap that dirt hides all the scuffs and paintwork blemishes anyway....no point in cleaning it.

I work 2 jobs and help out with a local club. I don't have time to spend cleaning my car, it just isn't that important, even though I love driving.

'mon the anti detailing brigade :)

in all seriousness mine does get hoovered every other day and the interior trim giving a wipe down daily

You missed my point. I didnt mean how can you not spend 3 hours out there with the detailing spray going mad.

I meant how can you not get so totally sick of getting your hands filthy every time you touch any part of the car that you don't cave in and chuck 3 quid at the automatic carwash?

I once had a loan car for 6 weeks. It wasnt mine, I didnt care at all what it looked like but I had to wash it twice just because I was sick of needing a wash every time I opened the boot or accidently brushed alongside it getting into it in a carpark, etc etc.

Presumably you clean your bathroom every so often, why not the car as well? Dirty stuff sucks?

The only outside part of the car I touch is the underside of the door handle, it isn't that dirty :/ No dirtier than the external door I open to get into work anyway.

Do you not use the boot or brush alongside from time to time when getting into the car in a tight spot etc?

I gave up hoovering with the leaves and rain. It's not that bad considering.

The rain is washing the majority of the crap off.

There are bodywork remedial jobs that I need to do before I bother with the things like washing and polishing. Was going to get it resprayed but its not really worth the bother.

The other one, the exact same except for it doesn't need anything done other than a small area around the bonnet vent. Still cba. Got too many other things to do.

Yes, but it's just a bit of muck. It's not a major concern to me:p

Haven't washed my car in ages, never seems to get dirty, though. I never get bogging from getting in or out or opening the boot, it just doesn't seem to pick up dirt. Something to do with the almost constant rain no doubt.

Not very dirty as I did a job on it at the weekend, a bit though because it rained for a couple of days.

Bit of a crap pic because I took it on my*iPhone* but hey-ho:
