How Do I Convince...

Buy the beemer before she has a chance to buy an astra.
That one scouse put up is a bargain!

Hell, I'd have it if I had room for another car. (The missus would probably castrate me if I bought another seeing as I've now got a car a bike, a project car and a project vw camper)

It is indeed.

Not sure I understand this rather odd and meaningless statement though:

Everything has to be specified and options added when ordering a new BMW, Even the Radio!

This is easy to sort, take her out in the astra but in a colour she hates, then out in the beemer in a colour she loves, she will want the bmw..........

Damn you scousegit YOU'RE TOO SOON AND TOO FAR AWAY! :(

NM though. Someone will get a bargain. ;)

There really aren't any decent 330's within budget down my neck of the woods. There is infact only 1 in budget, and that's an SE.

I hate living daaahn saaaarf, everything costs more. I didn't think cars did, but since I been searching, my eyes have been opened.

I don't really mind whether the car has sport seats or the nicer steering wheel or not. I just want something in very nice shape within budget, with leather interior. Anything extra is a bonus really. Bare in mind I'm coming from a lowest of the low spec 60BHP MK3 Astra that used to stink of cat pee, without electric windows, or well, electric anything really!

Indeed. Apart from the ones that don't, obviously.

197 Bhp. :o

Let the car convince your Mrs.

When I first started seeing my girlfriend, she had a Fiesta 1.8 Diesel.

She took one look at my 7 Series and deemed it far too big, said it was a gangsters car etc.

Then, I made that great mistake that people with doubting partners make - I let her drive it!

Now, she'd happily drive my BMW over her Xantia (she finds the BMW smaller when its infact bigger!) - She loves the way the ABS works (!) and "really likes the noise the engine makes"

She's often says when driving it "ooh I'm doing 90!"

In short, you'll love the BMW, take it from me they don't cost the earth to run as long as you avoid main dealers - my 318i which I had for about 5 years was infinetly better than the Escort TD it replaced, despite being older and 80k more miles!

My 728i was bought in August 05 @ 98K miles its still fine @ 124k miles.

Ok, don't go buying a 7 or large engined 3 / 5 Series, they will hit you in fuel, tyres insurance etc when compared to an Astra.

I know Fox hates them, but a 318i (either a late e36 or an early e46) would be a good choice imo and cost you little more than Astra money to run it.

Do NOT even consider a car without a detailed service history and do not to buy the first one you try. :)

Insurance and fuel economy are similar for the Astra Turbo compared to the 328ci, so for me, that's not the issue. Tyres for instance will be about the same cost for both.

One of my main objectives is to own an unsensible sensible car if you know what I mean. If I could get a 330 saloon within budget, I'd give it a look. I definitely don't want to get anything less than a 323.

Scouse,

That looks like an interesting (and rare) sat nav setup you have there. Would it be possible to get a front on picture that shows the nav and the head unit, as a friend of mine keeps a list of different headunits on a reference page for people to use and we've never seen that one before! :)

Go look how wide the back tyres of a 328i are, theres no way on god's green earth 4 standard tyres to fit an astra will cost the same as 4 standard tyres on a 328i

1 tyre on my 1er was £117!
