How Do I Convince...

Heheh. Even using bus/cycle lanes?

I suppose you have to perfect an angry glare to give to anyone who looks into the cabin too? ;)

No you just plain ignore them pretending they don't exist.

If you get a BMW you can drive down the outside of queues and stuff. It's pretty handy.

Don't need to waste precious make up application time faffing around with indicators either.

But its balanced out by the fact no one will ever let you out into the road. :p

Oh I thought it was just a common fault on all BMW's that the indicators didn't work. :D

tell her BMWs are more trendy, WAGs and VIPs have them as well as celebs in her heat magazines etc. she'll be chomping at the bit to be seen in one

Most women are like this. Its stupid. My Mum was presented with the offer to sell the 406 Coupe and get a CLK or 3 Series, but she declined... Wheres the mentality in that!

I always indicate but only becuase the high quality, solid feel of my indicator switches turns me on.

haha Gangster :)

I Would go for the bmw well worth the extra £

Well, on Saturday we went to a local garage to view a '99 V plate topaz blue 323ci SE, with just under 60K on the clock. It was a fair whack over priced though at £8990!

The garage has had a brand new pale grey leather interior fitted, which was really, really nice. The reason given was that they find it hard to shift on cloth interior cars (they mainly sell expensive stuff). I would never want a cloth interior after sitting in there. The only other decent leather interior I've sat in is my mates Laguna, which the BMW far surpassed. The car didn't have load sof bells and whistles, but tbh, I'd be happy owning one of the same spec, just so long as it has a decent leather interior.

We couldn't take it for a spin, as the garage has a small forecourt, with about 20 other cars in the way. Just sitting in it and feeling around was good enough for a taster really. Lovely quality finish and plastics, far better than I'm used to.

What's more, the missus loved it ;) :D We went to another local dealer to view an Astra Coupe, but that had sold. Instead I showed her the inside of a standard 5 door saloon and said that's basically it with nicer seats  . It seems that there are hardly any Coupe Turbos nearby any way, and with plently of 3 series coupes, I think that will now be our next car \o/

With this sort of budget I would avoid the 3 Series Coupe and instead get the 3 Series Saloon. It's fundamentally the same car but you will get more for your money - you will have enough for a later M54 engined version, perhaps even the 3 litre, whereas Coupe wise you'll be stuck with older M52's.

I've been toying with the idea of a saloon version also, but can't quite get my head around the looks.

My budget has raised to an utter, utter max of £7,500, so realistically I'll be looking at £8K cars hoping to barter within my budget. I've searched AT, but can't seem to find anything (in terms of saloons) that offers more than any of the decent 99-00 coupes I've been looking at within a sensible distance of where I live. 330's seem out of the question really, which is a shame.

I should have the funds by the end of July, so hopefully there will be some decent stuff out there at the time. I want it to end, I'm driving myself and her indoors mental!

/edit

Hmmm, it seems that it is possible to get an M54 within budget (just). Damn. Looks or performance, looks or performance, looks or performance, looks or performance.....

P.S its mine :)

The spec on the early Coupes is pretty garbage - horrible 3 spoke wheel with no remote controls on it, flat non sport seats, no Sport spec, manual AC on many, etc etc.
