How do You Apply the Handbrake?

50/50 thing I either just yank it up for up with button then one more click, I know where my "usual" position is anyway.

Well I only passed at lunchtime today, but I always push the button in and pull up. Mainly because my instructor said that some examiners try and give you a minor fault for it, as its 'improper use'.

push the button in,

only thing with this method is that you can't be sure that it has worked properly, so you have to give it a proper tug, whereas with the clack clak method it's easy to tell if it's engaged =p

Depends on the car. My car it only clicks once (or twice if I really yank it) so don't bother with the button. Janes car its clickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclick and the noise gets on my charlies so I push the button in.

I always use the button. Can't stand the racket or should I say ratchet it makes :)
Then I pull it up one click.

I always use the button, then pull unless I wanna look cool then I just yank it up. :D

You could try using the button then once it's up just pull to make sure it stays erect.

Push the button in so it doesnt make a noise! Got told of during my lessons so rarely do it nowadays. Although occasionally when i'm in a rush.

It's a bloody ratchet. pull the lever, end of.

and wear on a ratchet? if you're driving a 54 Ford Pop on it's original, and the previous owner was a gorilla... well, you might have a point.
