So how do the people of how ocuk acquire their books? Do most buy their books from amazon and other online retailers or do you go to the library to get books or do you own a kindle and only buy ebooks?

For the most part it's "dad works at library - dad brings home books - i read them - either they go back or they've been 'binned' so we keep them", but if i have a voucher i'll buy some online. The Works seems to be a good place to get them cheap, if they have them in stock.

Amazon. Previously it was ordering physical books. Since I've got my Kindle though I haven't bought a physical copy. Unless there is no Kindle version available, then I'll get a physical copy.

Novels and other fictional books - The rainforesty place.

Art instructional books/Video Game & Film Art Book - Either the rainforest or popular auction sites, depending upon the price.

Amazon or Play usually, Amazon marketplace is very good but the postage costs can be a downer, Play has free delivery on it's marketplace but the choice isn't as good.

The Kindle store, much more convenient that the hour drive (there and back) to the nearest bookshop or the couple of days wait for them to be delivered. They also take up a lot less shelf space.

In the past I did use Amazon and would generally order a months worth in order to get the free shipping.

It depends, if I'm after a certain book > Amazon.

If I want something to read, but I'm not sure what, I'll head to my Waterstones and have a browse.

If there's something in particular 'm after then either Waterstones or Amazon. Generally though I borrow & lend books with friends & family or buy from the Oxfam bookshop.

I used to get loads from our local library, but then they down-sized it (heresy!) and we moved. Now our library is totall **** and only good for DVD rental

Amazon and the Kindle store are pretty much the only places I shop now.

I don't like the idea from reading my book from a screen. I'd rather read from a proper book and they can be picked up cheaply from amazon marketplace. What are the prices like on the kindle store for older books and newer releases?

Used to buy them from Amazon, then give them away to charity every few years (usually coinciding with when I move) now get the Kindle editions.

From the kindle store. I will never buy a paper book again, my house is already full of the damn things.
