how do you make your porridge?

Put them in the pan the night before with milk and leave overnight ready for boiling up in the morning.

Or

When on my motorbike in leathers, plenty of talc down the trousers and round the crotch area then I make porridge as I ride especially in hot weather

Tesco own branded oats with milk which is made on the hob - continuously stirring and served with a teaspoon of manuka honey mixed in :)

In a pan, though I cook it with milk and sugar so not completely traditional.
I like to make it pretty thick and then add some cold milk at the end with raisins and cinnamon - lovely :)

x2 good handfuls of organic oats

1/3 organic milk, 1/3 hemp milk, 1/3 water until the oats are just covered in the bowl

microwave for 2 mins 20 seconds

Drizzle with local honey & add a small knob of organic butter.

Yum :)

One cup Scotts Porage Oats
Two cups water
Pinch salt (only a small amount, like when you add it to water to boil veg/potatoes)
Cooked in a pan

Sometimes on its own, sometimes with a bit of brown sugar or heather honey and a wee splash of ice cold milk on top (milk should not be mixed in to the porridge and the porridge has to be hot hot hot). Never instant/microwaved instant has a weird texture, the oats don't breakdown and become properly thickened.

^^ Like this ^^

I tend to just eat it on its own but I will occasionally have it with milk, the traditional way - each spoonful dipped in a cup of milk rather than putting the milk in the bowl which makes the porridge too wet.

Pop some oats into a pan on the hob, get them warm and pop in a bit of butter. Let the butter melt and keep stirring the oats, once the butters melted and it smells beautiful, add some whole milk just over the level of oats and let it simmer and reduce.

Best oats ever.

1/2 cup oats to 1 cup milk, microwaved :o usually add some ground almonds and occasionally a chopped banana.

Much prefer it done in the pan and if I have the time I sometimes do, but for ease of use (especially at work) I use the microwave.

How about some porridge pics tomorrow then you lot...

Mine this morning...
