How do you wake up in the morning?

You need a kick up the ass. If you can't even get out of bed on time then there isn't much hope for you, is there?

Don't muck about, Chief! Tell him what you really think! :p

I set my alarm about 30-ish minutes before I have to get up then I can have that 30 just lying in the bed, sorting my head out. I know this is a really crude thing to post, but my bladder usually encourages me to get out of bed! Then I'm in the bathroom anyways, so I brush my teeth, have a shower etc etc

Have you a TV in the bedroom? Or maybe a CD player with an alarm? Set either of those to come on, maybe focusing on the morning news or a lively album will get rid of the cobwebs? :)

a) Go to bed earlier.
b) Set more alarms.

And when you set your alarms, set them with 1-2 minutes in-between. You don't have a chance to get back to sleep before the next one goes off.

Go to bed earlier, helps the best for me.

Infact I am off to that place now and get up at a normal hour of 7am.

I did have my computer turn on and play music, Hardcore Adrenaline to be exact, and I could sleep straight through all of it, even on loud :o

I used to have this problem, I found the answer was to have kids.... now I'm up all night so don't have a problem getting in to the office early!

It's staying awake once I'm there that I have problems with! :(

I have the radio come on (fairly quietly) 15 minutes before my actual alarms go off, seems to help me subconsciously wake up in the same way as letting light through the curtains :).

I once slept through 3, yes 3 alarms.

Teacher told me to get an alarm, I told him I had three, he said well you should have woken up..

Well... erm. Im asleep so how do i...?

But yea Im the same as you, alarm goes at 8AM, Im still like urgh at 8:30 lol.

Get a bloody loud one and put it like in a corner so you have to get up to get out of bed. Or get your laptop playing some loud tune or something.

lol

I can get up for 7 quite easily, although 8 is the magic number for me. Even if I have more sleep (ie: 10-7 rather than 12-8) I still feel better getting up that 1 hour later. Very odd. Going to have to get up at about 6.30 soonish, which is going to be a total pain!

I just set my alarm for 15 mins before I'm up, snooze if I don't need a shave, and then I'm fine.

I managed to get into a great routine for the 1st time in my life, went to bed at 11, fell to sleep within 10mins, sleep till alarm and up a get feeling not too bad. Managed that for about a month then went on holl n the jet lag has ruined it and i cant get it back!!!

I think the advice of your bedroom been a place to only sleep is good. Many of us i guess will have out comps or tv's in the bedroom, i found that not using them helps a lot, but i haven't moved my stuff out to my study yet which dont help me.

My natural wake up is about 11am, any earlier and I end up feeling rubbish for a little while.

I struggle to get up for 7-8am without some persuasion of some kind.

I'm horrible at waking up too - I have that problem of turning the alarm off in my sleep and hitting snooze til it's way too late as welll. I put on three alarms on my phone - one that repeats every 10 minutes, and two that go off 5 minutes after the first one. And I STILL manage to sleep through them all!

I've found that getting my mom to call me (she gets to work like 8am) usually wakes me up cause I have to get out of bed to pick up the phone. Also, I got a delivery today at like 10am and I couldn't get back to sleep after that (I had a 12 o'clock lecture).

I've made my sister put her alarm clock at the other side of her dorm room so that it gets her up for lectures. I might have to start doing the same thing.

I have the same issue, i struggle to get up. I sometimes set my clock alarm and my phone 5mins later incase i switch it off. I've seen myself get up switch alarms off and wake up hours later not realising i had done it. Or i'll get up, have a shower then wake up with it turned into a bath as i just lay down in the bath with the hot water hitting me. So i'm extremely lazy in the mornings:eek:.

But i've started to stop doing it and i actually get up most of the time now easily but i tend to sometimes do the latter and fall asleep in the shower/bath, so sad but ive started setting an alarm incase i do fall asleep:o.

What you need to do is put your alarm clock over the other side of the room so that you have to get out of bed to turn it off. Once youre up then stay up.

Also get a old wind up alarm clock with the bells on the top and put it in a metal bucket. The bucket will make it 10 times louder and will wake you and the neighbours no problem :D
