You shouldn't need to format if you look after your PC properly, using the correct programs. Defrag, clean rubbish off, repair registry when removing programs, etc.

Come on... Windows isnt that bad.. in small doses... I do honestly believe though that OSX is better in pretty much everyway besides gaming.

Feel free to use ATi cards with any other operating system and get it stable. I personally cannot be bothered with the trouble, and I don't wanna bother with compiling my own coz I'm lazy. Plus the last time I did it, it drove me nuts.
