How Hard are You?

Never had a fight and never been threatened with one.

Guess I just stay out the way.

I could take on 26 five year olds though.

Had a few fights, tbh always try and walk away, sometimes its not possible

Not had a fight in about 8 years.

I always seem to stay well below the radar when it comes to fights / hostile situations.

I must look reasonably hard but not like I would start anything or want to

This ^ in a nutshell. No one has ever tried it on with me, probably because i'm quite a big fella and work out as well.

Also i think i would have wimped out of a fight several years ago but now i have much more of a **** it attitude and if someone tried it on i think i would take him on

I haven't been in a fight since year 7 so I wouldn't really know, but I'm guessing not very hard now days :)

I grew earlier than most of the lads in my school, so taller and stronger than most people, and knew karate, so no one tried to mess with me. Then however I stopped growing and people did try and have a go towards as I got older. Proclaiming to most of the school that I could beat up this one lad kept them occupied taunting him for a good chunk of the year, and when this 'hard case' tried to start a fight with me in resistant materials I swung a hacksaw at his throat, stopped it a bit short and put it down and walked away.

In hindsight, I'm more crazy than hard.

I imagine I could take out a 5 year old with a single shin kick to the face. So depending on how they attacked I could take on a fair amount.

If it's movie one at a time style, I could take them on until exhaustion.

If it was zombie style mob attack I don't know. I'm about to go to the local infants school and find out.

I'd rather use the old whistle and bells trick to get them to back down, I'm only 5'7 but I'm fairly broad and when I start shouting at you you'll know about it.
The amount of people whose arses drop out of their trousers when you give them a bit of a show is incredible, but I can and have defended myself and others without too many problems.

When I was in school me and a mate I used to do Judo with beat up 90% of the boys in year 7 using that tactic, they literally surrounded us and came at us on a 2:2 basis lol (started out with just a couple of them then they swarmed around us). Was the most fun fight ive ever been in, of course it was less aggressive than the later ones and painless too (as I wasn't one of the people getting chucked onto a concrete playground)

I'm seriously 'ard, and my **** is huge...

honestly though I hate fighting and will back down and talk my way out of situations. Would I defend my missus, with my life but if it's just to prove something, no, it's pointless and getting a criminal record is just not worth it. Having said that, I've trained in martial arts for over 8 years and most of that was including tournament fighting in which I was ranked second in the country, mens heavyweight, and middle weight (losing weight during my fighting years). However there is nothing to gain from 'avin it out' in the street with some random other than the increased potential of a knife in the gut... no thank you.

Beyond messing about with mates I've never hit anyone so I don't think I'd be too proficient in a "put em up" kind of fight, which people seem to go for quite a lot.
Having worked in event security/on the doors for coming up to 8 years there have been times when I've had to manhandle people, and wouldn't struggle to get most people to the floor and keep them there, but that's a different game really.
I've had lots of people wanting a fight with me and I just never rise to it, I'd rather forget my "pride" and walk away.

After writing that and thinking about the vast majority of fights I've seen they do all seem almost formal affairs, it was obviously a bit tongue in cheek when I said "put em up" type fights, but it usually is, there's usually a decision to fight and there will be at least some element of a posturing stand off before it starts. Usually only in really emotionally charged situations will you get someone essentially attacking another, instigating a fight where it's not been "agreed".

Which martial art?

Which martial art?

Officially Tae Kwon Do (in New Zealand) but we were very lucky in that our instructor would bring in other martial artist instructors, Karate, Muay Thai and a bit of Aikido thrown in there for good measure. Having said all of that I still loath the feeling of facing up against someone properly aggro'd and a fist heading for your face is not a pleasant thing. It's one thing to learn the art, fight in a controlled environment and wear protecting and another to be in a pub or the street where it's entirely random and you have every chance of getting bottled or knifed.
