How hard can it be to return an IPhone to it's owner?

Just seems pointless risking it on a night out, if im on a night out the most ill do is txt people to meet up, it would be a pretty poor night for me if i was browsing the net and on facebook.

p.s. if im traveling to an event ill take it and leave it in the car cause its handy having sat nav and the internet when you get lost

People who take decent phones etc are just asking for it to get lost. Every young person has an old crappy phone laying around somewhere they could take to these things.

Agreed. Saw so many people at Leeds this weekend with iPhones, just asking for trouble what with all the mud, moshing and mayhem!

took my n900 to IOW festival and got loads of great pics and it also helped me get home when i got lost in a park.

i wasnt camping though and it wouldnt have been much use if i had been.

My eldest took her IPhone to V last week and had to keep going back to the car to charge it up.
She quickly caught on and took an old brick with her to Leeds.

Yeah the one i took still had a fair amount of battery left after the weekend even using it as a torch for ages. Get home and my decent phone is flat as a pancake.

What on earth is the point in a phone that doesn't come out with you?

Of course theres no difference in taking a phone out with you to town etc or taking it to a music festival full of mosh pits, thousands of people pushing and shoving, pickpockets and fires :rolleyes:

Sounds like she wanted the new iPhone 4 so conveniently lost her iPhone! Assuming its a 3GS or older!

After (at least) 10 hours of not getting in touch (don't know whats happened today) this was my first thought.
Or I could have buried her.

Why didn't they hand it in to the losy property tent?
Because they were 100% positive it would not find its way back to the owner.
Glad I bought my girls up right although I'm reet dodgy.

It's a little bit more complicated than queing up, and going "gis a phone", you have to proove you own it, I dunno how they could do in most instances, but since it was still on, the owner could have unlocked it infront of them.

Don't see the issue with bringing your phone to festivals. Been to Roskilde and Hove without any problems what so ever.
Only bring a crappy old one in case it runs out of battery and I got no way of charging it.

lol at all the omg you take your phone to festivals and generally out down the pub!!!!!!!!

It's a phone, why pay £25 a month plus if your not going to use it

Just got back from leeds, have a Desire but I took my old C902, only charged it twice in 5 days. Saw many with expensive phones, iphones blackberrys HTC's etc, not worth it. If you drop it anywhere your probably not getting it back.

Personally I got a locker for 15 quid, kept my wallet + car keys + phone when it was charging in it. Only thing I was then bothered about getting ruined/nicked was my clothes from my tent. Took disposable cameras, lost one which was half full but hey, 3 quid disposable or 100+ digital? Know which i'd choose....
