How I laughed

To play devils advocate, I would argue you are not a good gamer if you can't adapt to play with a pad.

I can play with a pad... just not as well as with a KB&M

besides I don't see why they couldn't keep the simple controllers like the ones used for the NES, SNES, Megadrive and such they were the best controllers in the world!

I can see precious little reason to spend all that time and effort getting cross-platform multiplayer gaming working anyway regardless of the problems of differential controllers and displays. If a game is good it'll support enough people to have an online gaming community on one platform anyway, if it isn't, it won't.

Not at all, go on Xbox Live play in a public match on MW2 and watch how kids self describe themselves as being 'pro' because they can drop shot with a UMP. It makes me laugh.

Go on the PC version and listen to the chat, its the same old crap. You get people shouting noob all the time for using shotguns etc. I love it when I hear someone moan about dual G18's on MW2 for the PC. I then run around with nothing more than G18's just to laugh at their temper when they kick off.

Sorry but the PC and console MW2 public voice chat is just as bad as each other. Only difference is most of the PC players should be old enough to know better xD This is only on MW2 though, the likes of TF2, BC2, Quake etc you don't get anywhere near the same amount of smack talk.

Edit: I thought there was a game that was already capable of this? Can't remember the name...

It's cheating if you use an un-authorised peripheral to give you an edge over other gamers.

If there was an option from MS to give mouse/keyboard I would not consider it cheating.

But hey, don't the elitest attitude you PC gamers have stand in the way.

I also play on a console too, i don't play online on one, jumping to assumptions is a **** isn't it?

I used to be a heavy pc gamer, played CSS lots and lots, but after selling my old rig (beast of a rig, sli 8800GTX's, e6600 ect ect all watercooled!) for money, a few months later I had some cash again, I bought a console to keep my gaming thirst quenched until I could buy a nice rig again... over a year later, I am still playing on my console and love it. So much easier to just sit and chill on the bed playing BC2 online.

I am terrible yes, and am now terrible at css and the likes of, but none the less. Love my 360 :)

But PC Gamers do have the elitest attitude that they are the best, this thread just proves that.

FTR, I am not saying either console/PC gamer are better than their counterparts, it's just the whole segregation thing that annoys me.

There are benefits of both platforms, we should all rejoice as gamers we have such wide varied options to play them, not belittle other users of 'inferior' hardware.

As a PC and console gamer I can't see how pointing out that a mouse and keyboard combination is far more optimal than a controller and thus has gameplay benefits on a wide variety of genres is an elitist attitude. It's just common sense.

I don't mean that aspect of it, I mean it as the aspect that the PC platform is the best and the gamers are the best and that people who play on consoles 'suck'.

That is an elitest attitude.

I remember arguing with a friend once, because he said that controllers are just as accurate as a mouse and keyboard. I died a little inside, and lost respect for him.

Reminds me of the days of Quake III Arena and the Dreamcast.

Was always fun to utterly destroy the console players.
