How ironic is this?

The problem with this forum is there's too many wet-behind-the-ears geeks who's idea of fun is a bit of thread trashing and bandwagon jumping. They do their joke degrees at age 19 and think they know it all.

Dave is getting a second chance at a decent career at an age where many are on the scrapheap and he did it through trying. Even if I don't always reply to them I always read his threads because they're interesting and not full of the latest internet in-jokes.

I had the same crap a while ago in my speeding thread. Some people need to grow up.

And yes, I did get away with it, so boo sucks to them!

Sounds like there has been a mix up in the results or something if you got the cert first and the failure notice after... Perhaps they send the failure thing to the wrong person?

So you failed a course that even special needs people pass?
Nice one.

If you read the thread you will see that I actually attended an awards evening where I received my certificate and gave a speech to top brass.
Theres obviously a mistake been made and the course tutor (who I now work with) is checking it out on monday.
I did get worried for a couple of hours though.

I find it Ironic you spent 27 years testing cookers and the government think you are qualified to teach, no wonder this country is going down the pan throwing money about at crazy NHS schemes.

congrats on getting the job though.

And you sir have a massive point.
However two major things got me the job -
1 - I did 3 weeks in the Academy with the team so they saw first hand my capabilities and what I was capable of acheiving.
2 - My 38 years in music and the customer care that goes with it.
I also gave a Powerpoint Presentation so they could get first hand what my teaching skills were like.

They told me that some very qualified people applied for the job but personality was a bigger part of the job role because of all the different projects.
At the moment they made the right decision although this last week I put my foot in it big time by opening my big mouth about something.
I think I got away with it.

ooooo Powerpoint. Did you do those fancy slide transitions. They love that :p

You do drone on a bit at times, but you dont deserve the grief people choose to give you.

you are happy with the turn your life has taken and you like to share things.

Gimp is sticking true to his name, and acting like one.

Its odd that you forgot getting a certificate... being told you failed something you collected a certificate for would normally set some kind of alarm bell ringing
