We didn't have pumpkins.
We had bagey lanterns (tarrrrnips for all you foreigners), we made a Guy and we went knocking on doors shouting "Penny for the guy!"
My girlfriend thinks I'm well ghetto for having bagey lanterns.

Pumpkins are a foreign(US) import. Turnip lanterns were the thing in my youth but we did not make a Guy. You were expected to sing, tell jokes or something though before you got anything.

so i was quite pleased (had nithing last year, you wouldn't have known it was hallowe'een)
Cliff stayed in with the baby and wore a scream mask with fake blood that you can pump out. We saw lots of children walking about dressed up and everyone we knocked on was lovely. It was a mild evening and very enjoyable. When we got back there were still some more children knocking and it was nice to see their costumes. All of them were very polite and made an effort dressing up.
