How last night effected me...

We didn't have pumpkins.

We had bagey lanterns (tarrrrnips for all you foreigners), we made a Guy and we went knocking on doors shouting "Penny for the guy!"

My girlfriend thinks I'm well ghetto for having bagey lanterns.

*n

Pumpkins are a foreign(US) import. Turnip lanterns were the thing in my youth but we did not make a Guy. You were expected to sing, tell jokes or something though before you got anything.

two knocks (from the same group), followed by me opening the door and telling them to **** off and go home and then their was peace, no eggs, no dodgey items through the letter box.

and i live on a coucil estate, which is teeming with scum :o so i was quite pleased (had nithing last year, you wouldn't have known it was hallowe'een)

Even scum knows not to crap at their own door step:o

i went out to the uni club here and got a bit wasted but to be honest it was a crap night and i over slept and missed a lecture this morning

Gone out to a Haloween pub quiz got 2nd
Woke up this morning with a massive hangover and just woke up missing work and college!..Oops!

We all had a lovely evening here. I took the kids out trick or treating all dressed up in their devil and skeleton costumes and I was a vampire :p Cliff stayed in with the baby and wore a scream mask with fake blood that you can pump out. We saw lots of children walking about dressed up and everyone we knocked on was lovely. It was a mild evening and very enjoyable. When we got back there were still some more children knocking and it was nice to see their costumes. All of them were very polite and made an effort dressing up.

That's exactly what it should be like :)

Had nothing, not even a knock, had a look out side at my car a couple of times, but not heard of any trouble round here what so ever.

It's people like L0rdMike I feel for! :(

No kids trick or treating but didn't expect any. Didn't expect the screaming row from a party a few doors up either at 3am though which lasted an hour outside my window! :(

What a night, I drank a stupid amount of whisky, then someone turned up with pills and I kicked them out. Ordered a massive amount of pizza at 2 in the morning, still eating it.
Got a hangover. And my house reeks of fags and booze.
Essentially like a pub.

Worth it though, what a night.

I gave the trick or treaters the rest of my wife's big tin of Heroes. She was a bit ticked off to say the least when she found out. I say the fat cow's eaten enough! :D

Damn you!!, why weren't we all invited :p

Went clubbing at a really rubbish club in Bank. Good group of people with me though so it was an OK night all in all. Came back to halls to find security manically ID'ing everyone who came on site - obviously worried about eggings. I was walking back on site with a Ukrainian friend of mine - trying to explain to her egging and why people do it was surprisingly hard as apparently nobody does it over in Ukraine. Woke up about an hour ago :D

the GF came round....witha bag full of sweets for the little brats around here. half of them walking around werent even dressed up. come on kids a hood doesnt count. ffs i make more of an effort when i go out drinking:p

Does anyone else think Penski was probably sad enough to deliberately spell his title wrong JUST so he could use that pic?

I do :p:D

But used it incorrectly, I think. By the looks of the dictionary definition, the more uncommonly used definition of 'effect' is "to bring about" or make something happen. So 'how last night effected me' would be incorrect in both senses of the word, whereas 'how last night affected me' would be correct.
