How last night effected me...

But used it incorrectly, I think. By the looks of the dictionary definition, the more uncommonly used definition of 'effect' is "to bring about" or make something happen. So 'how last night effected me' would be incorrect in both senses of the word, whereas 'how last night affected me' would be correct.

"A mental or emotional impression produced, as by a painting or a speech."

BOOYAH!

I'm confused then! If "effect" also means to produce an emotional impression, doesn't "affect" mean the same thing?

The painting deeply effected me.
The painting deeply affected me.

Am I missing something?

No. You're not.

Think about the post I quoted when I posted the picture... ;)

Had lights on as normal and got a grand total of 0 of them :D And that's living in a culs-de-sac with about 50 houses (so not exactly middle of nowhere). Haven't had any for 3/4 yrs, and even then it was just sweet little kids.

Did they find out you are on the sex offenders register or something. ;)

Your reputation preceeds you. :p

:p

I don't know exactly where you live but is it a family orientated sort of place?

yeah it's a very traditional kind of area - seems that the people here fall into three categories - there are older people whose kids have moved away, OAPs, and a growing number of younger couples with young children (around 2/3) though so maybe in a few years they'll all be out and about. Think the school at the end of the road had some kind of halloween ball/party on to keep them off the streets though, saw lots of ickle pumpkins and mummies and witches walking in there last night :D

I went to a party and had, mulled wine, spider cookies, spooky cake all sorts of ghoulish nonesense :)

I also made very immature jokes all night about the hostess having her pumpkins out

Very quiet around here really. Nobody really knocked on the door, thankfully.

When I went out at around 7ish, there were a few people out, nothing really happened though. I was thinking I was going to be a target when going past a group of kids on the bike but they did'nt throw anything this time...

Bring on the snow, Im always a target lol. I turn round though and they scatter like a bomb has gone off.

:p

Its the bloody kids around here. The buses and lorries get it all the time. They throw anything at everything...
