How Many 8800GTX Rigs Left

I'm just trading up to an 8800GT. It'll be a while yet before I see the need to upgrade I think.

I game at 1680x1050, but I doubt I'll ever bother with Crysis. More concerned about running GTAIV on utter max settings than anything else.

For most of my other gaming, I'm at least a year behind you lot anyway!

All about picing for me. Came 'that' close to hitting the buy button a few weeks back when the 280s were around £240 but rationality kicked in - what was I running that the 8800 couldn't cope with?

With the current price hike I'm certainly not upgrading soon. Waiting with interest to see what the 280 55nm brings to the table but not expecting it to be priced sensibly.

Perhaps if the 280s drop way below their current pricing again (can't see how theyr'e shifting much stock atm) I might still be tempted, especially if the 8800 won't cut it @1900x1200 when FC2 arrives.

Surely you see a massive boost though with gtx280 in sli coming from a 8800gtx though unless the 8800gtx were sli also to which i think they could have run anything sweetly

Still running a 8800GTX 1st one lasted me 10 months and then blew up recently gotta a 2nd Gtx from BFG as replacement ive put it down to bad luck hopefully.I dunno why the GtX coughs so much when it runs crysis i guess crysis gave it a bug or crysis is a bug still not sure which way around.Still GTX is still a good card im running on 1920x1200 only a few games it wont run near maxed.I hope it will run farcry 2 fairly well and not be a repeat of crysis.

See my Sig

Still plays Crysis Warhead at 1280 x 1024 quite reasonably! :D
Wont replace it for a while as I have 2 x 4870 in Crossfire (see below) for my main gaming rig.

8800 GTX (GFC OC2 edition) here, love it, works a dream.

I played Crysis at release with everything on high and it was fine, simply put I wont be upgrading until I start struggling to run things, even then I might just SLI two 8800's.

Still using my stock ocuk GTX and it handles everything now. It's still a beast.

I can always clock it a bit for a boost if reqd.

I only really want to change it so i can get a card that sends audio over HDMI

yeah, im still on my 8800GTX as well. I did have a 4870 for a short while, but i decided just to go back to my GTX as it works flawlessly and i don't see any point in changing it to anything else at the moment.

It plays what i want to play for the time being.

Got both. I'm thinking of selling the 4870 though due to financial problems after losing my job. GTX will run things fine although a little bit slower but enough to cope. Not 100% sure though as I like the ATI card as it does pack a lot more power in some titles.

Still on 8800 GTX here as well - great card :)

Bought my original in early 2007 for £320 (ughh!) and bought another around May this year for £160 (half the price).

I have them hooked up in SLi @ 625 core/950mem each with an EVGA 790i motherboard, 2 gig of OCZ DDR3 and an E8500 @ 4Ghz.

Get 18500 3DMark06 points and can play everything very smoothely indeed,

I'm looking to get a Hazro HZ26Wi (26" lcd @ 1920x1200) so I may review the GFX card situation then but at the moment, everything is good - haven't really the need to upgrade at the moment :)

I sold up my 8800GTX (Which had replaced my 7900GX2) with waterblock mod for my 9800GX2 back in Feb.

The 8800GTX was an uber fast back in its day, one of those big jumps you get every 2 years or so.
:') brings a wee tear to me eye.

I'm still using my trusty XFX 8800 GTS(320Mb) XT circa March 07, which runs fine as I only currently game at 1440 x 900, although I do intend to upgrade to a 24" screen eventually.

What's even more suprising though is that my E6600, RAID 0 pair of Samsung Spinpoint 320Gb HD's and XFX Nforce 680i Motherboard are all drawing from a two year old Hiper Type R 580w Modular PSU, and I'm not picking bits of my rig out of my face! :D
