how many cases have you had ?

For my main PC and since I've built my own, I think it's been 3 - Antecc 300, BitFenix Shinobi and Phateks Enthoo Primo.... it's currently back in the Shinobi while I clean and re-do my watercooling (only taken me a couple of years so far :P ).... the shinobio is kinda sticky where the soft touch plastic has degraded.

Before that I had an ebay 'gaming' PC which was so awful I sent it back after a week or so, then a Dell Dimension (5150 I think), which saw me through the first year of uni.

I have another PC (the 'server' in my sig) that was in a Fujitsu case when I got it but is now crammed in to an ITX case I got free when I picked up some fittings I bought on the MM - It's, I think, a mini-DTX board and is pushed hard against the bottom of the case, probably bowing the motherboard a bit....

I'd love a new case (that's why I keep coming back to this section of the forum!) but I went and bought a 480mm rad and that's extremely limiting in case choice these days, so I really just need to clean and repair the Primo... or downsize to a couple of 360mm rads!

I've got quite a few cases laying about, thinking I might re- use them someday but I never do. I've moved several on over the years too, but it's not every year though. I do really like the look of the Phanteks NV9 though...

My first case though was the Thermaltake Xaser 3 in silver... loved that thing! Would love to do a sleeper build or something in one if I could find it again

yeah i remember building in this case before....it was lovely case...all i can say it was very very weighty i did change the controller on the front to something i believe was a hardcano digital it was years ago and it did what it needed to do so much space ifyou find one... would like to see the sleeper build.

My first pre-built had a Nokia inspired front panel back in 2003. I then had a Thermaltake case a few years later. Then I went with a Fractal Define silent case in 2012. In 2016, I bought a Phanteks Enthoo Evolv mATX case. Found in total. Now I'm looking to buy either the Lian Li Lancool 207 or Phanteks G400A for my latest build.

Not counting the computer shop built cases when i was a young lad, and only counting my own self-builds:

Coolermaster Cosmos S (Core 2 Duo system with GTX 280)
Coolermaster Mastercase Maker 5 (6700k, GTX 1070)
Coolermaster NR200 (5800X, X570, 1080Ti)
Phanteks P200A (5800X, RTX 3090)
Lian Li O11 Mini Air (5800X3D, RTX 3090)

Last two case moves was for watercooling requirements

Then for my kids and the guest PC:
NR200 for my daughter
SSUPD Meshlicious for my son
DAN A4 H20 for the guest PC

Also had a Node 202 temporarily for a short lived livng room PC experiment. Now have a Jonsbo N2 as my NAS case.

Also have a Dan A3 mATX i got from OCUK that i am yet to put a build into.

I have all the cases mentioned above except the Cosmos, Maker 5 and Node 202, all of which i sold on.

Average length of service for my PCs > 5years

Antec P1s, Cooler Master Cosmos II, Phanteks Enthoo Elite. Big cases with large fans..quietest and coolest maximising ease of installation.

hmmm...this is my case timeline lol:

time to update my timeline:
2012-2014 Bitfenix Prodigy White - my first ever PC build and subsequent watercooled PC housing a 7990 (build log: https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/tamzzys-project-derp.18564041/ )
2014-2019 Fractal Arc Mini R2 - swapped over to a watercooled quad-fire 7990 (build log: https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/tamzzys-fractal-arc-mini-quadfire-madness.18608010/ )
2019-2021 Silverstone RVZ03 - mini-ITX ryzen build (build log:https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/tamzzys-back-to-air-cooling-itx-build.18862455/ )
2021-2024 Corsair 380T White (my favourite case)

2023- Jonsbo D31 White (main PC)
2024- Fractal Meshify 2 Nano White (secondary PC)

About to add an Antec Flux (Black, non Pro) to my case list.

So the updated list would now be:

Classic small/midi atx tower in the 90s.
Obtained a Thermaltaker Xaser III at one point that served a long time (early 00s through 10s).
Had a no brand full (tall) tower at around the same time (early 00s).
Had another midi case as well, but don't remember much about it (no brand again in the early 00s).
Then finally grabbed the Corsair Obsidian 650D Midi/Full ATX case in 2010s.
Then a Corsair 300r a year later for the secondary backup system.
In 2022 I went with the Lian-Li Lancool III (White, as a different case I was after was not in stock).
Next "was" going to be the Antec Performance 1 case, but the location where the secondary system is is height limited, so went with the Antec Flux (Black, non Pro).

...

I'd love a new case (that's why I keep coming back to this section of the forum!) but I went and bought a 480mm rad and that's extremely limiting in case choice these days, so I really just need to clean and repair the Primo... or downsize to a couple of 360mm rads!
Found a case to house the 480, but not built it yet - Saharagaming p480 (kinda 011D style but deeper and narrower)

Build log/pics coming 'soon'(tm) :P
