8 and I have had all 4 wisdom teeth removed.

As a kid we had one of those wine decanters in the fridge but instead of wine it was full of Robinsons squash.

I never really drank fizzy drink but I do love my sweets. 0 alcohol and I quit smoking when I was 25.

My teeth are really good now though and zero pain. I have been going private for the past 4 years however.

I still have 2 sugars in my tea but have cut back on a lot of sweets.

0, mid 30s. Squash as a kid and not particularly sugary a diet one way or the other, never like fizzy drinks though until way beyond 14/15. No issues outside of a wisdom tooth insisting on coming out at a sub-perfect angle. Haven't even registered for dentist since I left the armed forces in 2020. Genes play a big part so I hear.

My mother has fantastic teeth with 0 fillings at 73 years old. My dad had dentures by the time he was 50. I guess I am somewhere in the middle genetically!

8-9 filling and 1 crown.

59 years old with 31 teeth (one wisdom tooth removed) raised on rose hip syrup and Ribena. Lots of silver amalgam fillings done in the 1970s replaced by white ceramic ones in the early 2000s.

Didn't go to the dentist for I don't know how many years. Needed two or three fillings, can't remember tbh.

Not been for about another ten since then. Wisdom teeth gave me a bit of annoyance over the years but since they've come through fully it seems like it's improved my bite alignment. I mean it wasn't bad before but better now.

So far so lucky, my dad had regular visits, root canal treatment and all that and my mum either has problems a lot or just fancies the dentist.

But again, have rarely touched any fizzy drinks - they always feel like they're trying to eat my gums away.

1 filling, 1 extraction (extra tooth behind wisdom tooth)

Surprising really as I hadn't seen a dentist for nearly 20 years and as a kid/teenager refused to brush my teeth, first time I went back to the dentist the hygienist was really working up a sweat clearing the build up

0 fillings, 0 teeth removed, 4 wisdom teeth.

Only use a regular toothbrush and occasional mouthwash. Eat all kinds of food (especially love biscuits) but never one for sugary drinks.

Think it’s more genetic than anything else!

I find it hard to believe that anything is bad for your teeth if you keep up an immaculate oral care regime
Genetics will play a big part but I would tend to agree that oral hygiene stops most problems from happening in the first place.

My dad had perfect teeth until his mid 60’s, then he got throat cancer quite high in the throat. He had radiotherapy which cured the cancer, but over the years since, he’s lost his teeth and has got one left.

Given I'm such a sweet tooth, it's quite surprising that I only have a few fillings. However, I rarely eat crisps, which I recall QI saying are the worst culprits for teeth problems.

None. I think some measure of dental health is genetics. I have never been overly anal about dental hygiene and don't have any fillings whereas other people are far more careful and have many.

Genetics definitely has to have some part. My mum has never looked after her teeth and has 1 filling, my Dad on the other hand has impeccable dental hygiene (brushes, flosses, mouthwash twice a day, leaves time between eating and brushing etc, dentist has told not to change his habits) but has 9 fillings

2 for me - although I'm absolutely a sweet tooth and can happily chomp through an entire family sharing bag of Haribo.

As of a few days ago, zero. Because it came out. :o

Hurts like an absolute beach when I eat/drink, but just don't have the time to sort it at the moment.
