How many GPU's have died on you?

none, but i blew up a x850xt agp once, put new cooler on it and something was touching something it shouldnt have, spark crackle pop bang

Erm... from what I remember I have had...

3dfx vodoo 2
Something here
XFX 5600
Can't remember 6400
inno3d 7600GS
8600GT(I think)
HIS 6850
...and probably a 7970 soon...

I can honestly say from the cards I have had and the ones I don't remember I have never had a card die on me. I pushed the 5600, 6600, 7600 "to their extremes" for well over 2 years for each, I've recently dipped into ATI and am equally enjoying their card(s).

3Dfx Vodoo 4mb - just died
ati rage furry 32mb - burst in flames :D nearly caught all other parts
x850xt - just died
1900xt - overheat
440mx (i know i know lol) 0 just died
Funny,i still have 8800GTX (Asus) which going crazy strong,i tried to abuse this card in any possible way - 8800gtx from Asus just dont want to die hehe

none

btw the fan on my current 5850 @ full speed is half the speed it used to be,is this good enough reason for RMA ? (card was not bought from here).

Only my 8800GTX BFG which started artifacting. It does come with a lifetime warranty. Anyone know if I can still claim that somehow?

8600GT Cooling fan dropped off and it and the card slowly melted.

Got a 9500GT now ( Not much of an upgrade lol )

Heatsink is slowly coming off now so another upgrade is due soon

My old Voodoo 3, 9800 pro and 7900GS died. Got a good few years out of that 9800 though, best card i've ever owned :D

The old Geforce 2, x1650, HD4670 and dual 6950s all still work afaik :)

I've had an 8800GTX die on me.

It was bought from Scan - a generic 'scan' card, which was actually XFX branded (I guess it was a customer return).

It died 13 months after purchase, outside mfg warranty(12months).
However their CS were very good; after returning it & verifying it was faulty they issued me an unboxed GTX 260 (again, I assume it was an exdisplay or customer return).

Not ideal, as that scuppered my 8800GTX SLI setup; though tbh SLI was more hassel than it was worth.

The GTX 260 is working even today; though it's now a part of my Dad's machine.

On a side note; the 8800GTX was the best GPU I ever bought.
True it ran FAR too hot, and gobbled LOTS of power - but it was a beast of a card! Infact still quite respectable even today!
I still have my 2nd 8800GTX lying dormant in my 'bits' box under the bed; I think I'm going to hold onto it for sentimental reasons =] (along with my voodoo 1, and voodoo 2)
