How many GPU's have died on you?

Are you sure you were not on a monster gaming session?. When the screen went blank it was you actually falling asleep sitting up and could still here the game playing.

Did you RMA or is it a paperweight?.
 
Had a Sapphire 4870 1GB die on me once. Switched the machine on one morning realised the fan was blowing full blast on the Gpu and had no post screen. Strange as it was fine the night before with no signs of any problems.
 
Only one died for me and that was a BFG 6800U AGP, got it replaced pretty quick via alienware as that was the PC is purchased the card/system with years ago. Recently fan failed on a 460 but the card still worked albeit ran a lil hotter than the norm.
 
Just one GPU on a 250GTS my own fault though, I removed the H/S to clean ou the crud and obviously didn't replace it correctly :o

I won't be doing anything like that again
 
I haven't had any desktop graphic cards die. here's the ones I've owned:
Savage S3
Matrox Millenium
Geforce 5200
Radeon HD 5670, 5770, 2x5850, 2x6950

After the Gefore 5200 I switched to gaming laptop, and had a radeon 9800 mobile (still working), then a Geforce 7800GTX which died and took out the laptops mboard too - 1 month before the warranty ran out. It was all replaced, and upgraded to a 7950 GTX and is still going strong.

My GTS 250 still had 1 month warranty left, however I didn't think for one moment that OCUK would appreciate the fact that I'd removed the H/S & replaced it incorrectly.

I most definitely won't be doing that again :o

It was rma'd and got my replacement yesterday.

I'm glad you got sorted. Now time for some catching up in a war or two (hundred) ;).
 
8800GTS 512mb by Inno3d -twice!

First one died immediately, sent it to Hong Kong for RMA, replacement started artifacting a year after.
