Just curious to see what spec and how many machines people have and what they use them for.

I used to have nice machines back in the day- Then I met the missus and had kids

So its bargain central for me:(
 
AMD gaming rig, Toshiba craptop (cant be bothered to list the specs) and a nintendo pee.

nintendo for gaming,
craptop for checking the net
AMD system for gaming & everything else.

Hmmmm i have a problem

Nearly forgot the Alienware lappy, and the spare in the garage consist of many things i have brand new X58 mobo's and i7 920 cpus in there and more of the dominator 6GB 1866 kits......got to sell some stuff soon lol
 
Four at present. Amd 7750be system running as a NAS, samsung netbook for lectures & libraries, 1.6ghz celeron dell laptop which I can't think of a use for and an i7 desktop which spends 75% of its time broken and the rest running folding at home or cad software.
 
I have my main pc, Laptop, netbook, server, test PC and one that runs my makerbot.
So thats 4 PC's and 2 portables.

My gaming rig is - [email protected], 4Gb ram, Win7, 300Gb VRaptor, 9800GTX+
My Laptop - Dell Inspiron 6400 - T2080 @ 1.7Ghz, 2Gb ram, 120Gb HD and onboard gfx. Originally specced for Astornomy use, and even though its nearly 15 months old I still get 4.5 hours battery life.
Netbook, Virgin Media Freedom. Used mainly for emails and light internet usage.
My server is a WHS system, AMD6000+, 2Gb ram, x1950 gfx, 8 port SAS card, and 5 x 1Tb drives. I used to fold on this, hence the relativly high spec.
My makerbot PC is a Dell P4 box with 1gb ram.
The test PC is a P4 loan PC which I lend people when I am fixing theirs. Never been used for around 8 months, really should flog it tbh!

Bit too much for 1 person? Probably!
 
3 Pcs and 1 laptop.

PC1(Sig) Is used for gaming and general usage.
PC2.Gigabyte GA-X48-DS5,[email protected],2x1GB DDR2 1033Mhz,2x1950XT,250GB HDD,Antec 300 is also used for gaming but I passed it on to my little brother.Amazing how those 2x1950XTs can keep up with all the newest games.:D
PC3.Asrock Wolfdale 1333-D667,E2160@ 2.2Ghz,2xGB DDR2 667Mhz,8600GTS,160GB HDD and a 6 year old case which now belongs to my mom is used for general usage and some Sims2.

The laptop belongs to my sister.Don't know the exact specs but has 3GB RAM,320GB HDD,T4300 2.0Ghz.
 
My sig mentions my machines.

I went i7 for video editing as I edit some fairly large hd video files for promo work I do and I find it better than a more expensive mac (so much easier to upgrade)

AMD for gaming and hpcs all running windows 7 as it provides an easy wireless network for the htpcs.:D

1 laptop, 1 netbook. Neither ever used in the house.

Gaming and Video machines both have ssds (a competiter had the 120gb vertex turbo mis-listed at £90 but honoured my order for 2).

Gaming one as per sig, and the other is a simple single core AMD thing, with an 8800GT for my brothers gaming.

a dell e520 - core2duo e4300, 2gb ram, 160 & 500gb hdd, gma 3100 gfx - which was my old htpc (i used the 2600xt from it for my new one also) lol i didn't try and use the intel gfx :)
a compaq presario sr1539 - athlon 64 3500+, 1.5 gb ram, 7600gt, 160 gb hdd - even older attempt at an htpc which i aint gotten rid of yet,
an athlon xp1600, 512mb ram, 80gb hdd, geforce 2 mx440 that i have had for years that i just aint gotten rid of either
and my hp pavillion dv8333 laptop - coreduo 1.66, 2gb ram, go 7600, 2 x 80gb hdd's
i'll be getting rid of the dell, compaq and athlon xp1600 soon when i can be bothered as i'm running outta space lol :D

E8400, DS3, 4gb OCZ, 4850 512MB - Win 7 for web browsing and general use / XP for cubase and music production stuff.

4000+ AMD64 San Diego, MSI Neo2 Plat, 2gb Crucial, 7800GT - Old rig with slackware and XP duel boot, never use it though tbh.

PII 266MHz, 32MB RAM, Voodoo 1 6MB, Soundblaster 16. Win 95 legacy rig :cool:

Also got Samsung N510 Atom/ION netbook for mobile/sofa use.
 
Well all the ones in my sig and also a netbook (Acer Aspire One)...I should really look at getting a pc lol...i keep putting it off due to me not finding a legitimate reason to get one :P

E6600@ stock, XFX NF680i LT Motherboard, Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro, 2Gb Corsair XMS2 PC2-6400, XFX 8800GTS(320Mb)XT, 2 x 320Gb Samsung Spinpoint F1's in RAID0, Windows XP 32 Bit.

Laptop - Main system for web/email, in addition to occasional Word/Excel use.
Advent 5301 - T2370 @ 1.73Ghz, 2Gb DDR2, 120Gb Hd, Vista Home 32Bit

Those, in addition to a Netgear Readynas Duo with a pair of WD Ecogreen 1tb drives mirrored for storage.

Used for file storage and backup, eventually used for PS3 streaming.

Laptop (Dell XPS M170 (Gen2)):
PentiumM 2.13GHz; 2GB PC5300 (I think), 7800GTX Go; 250GB hdd, 17" 1920x1200 panel.
Used initially as a LAN machine, eventually will be old games (Win95/XP) machine.
