Am I missing something, surely your commute is from home to work regardless of which mode of transport you take.

This is true, but given that this is in motors, I figure people want to know about car mileage, otherwise this would be a GD thread.

In terms of actual miles travelled by whatever means...

Around about 14 miles each way each weekday, though that's Google Maps giving me road directions, rather than the distance on the railway line!

220 Miles a week commuting in my little Rover 220SDi, currently managing around 45-50MPG so it's not costing too much.

It's not the best place to be sat in the world though on the motorway so i'm going to start looking to upgrade back to something bigger like a Pug 407 or Mondeo in about 12 months.

I'm retired, any occasional work I do is at home, if I have to go anywhere I take the Mustang

5 miles each way, so 50 miles a week but I'm doing some outside contracting and consultancy recently which adds about an extra 25 a week.

30-35mpg

I generally fill up a £60 tank every 2/3 weeks and that sorts all my driving, did manage 5 weeks without a fill up recently though as I had a couple of weekends away without the car.
