FIrefox is a massive battery drainer in my experience. I'd probably just use Chrome or Edge for things where Safari doesn't work, but it might be a simple Safari setting you can change.
Totally agree with this I was wondering why my battery drain was substantially higher suddenly then realised it was Firefox. Again, it's a shame that I can't use this as my primary browser when I'm away from the charger as it's excellent.
I'm settled with Edge on the Mac now as the battery life is much more palatable (shame it's a bit bloaty).
Well after the recent Firefox scandal I'm back on Safari. I'm thinking of getting Wipr 2 but before I buy it I wanted to see if any of you use and what you think of it? It is £4.99 on the app store.

After setting up a new laptop I decided to give Safari another go. One major issue I've found is that is seems to have an issue with audio when consuming YouTube content at higher speeds. Chrome deals with the audio fine with these settings.
Google has form when it comes to YouTube, they got caught doing the dirty on Edge. Googles underhand tactics are why it’s being punished in several lawsuits that they have utterly lost.
it’s certainly an anti competitive issue created by Google itself rather than a fault of Safari or any other browser other than chrome.
