How many people game with headphones @ Home??

Seems like most people use headphones to please the neighbours or because of the neighbours.

Love thy neighbour :p

I just do what is right. I would be rather annoyed and angry if my neighbour starting playing stupid loud music or something like BF3 with lots of explosions in the middle of the night when I am asleep. They do not do it to me so I will not do it back. ahhh Karma :)

The only thing I hate about using headphones is that they really do cancel out sound stupidly well. So much that I have had it where I will have been playing a game like L4D or something scary to which my gf will creep up and scare the living **** out of me because I could not hear her come into the room lol :p

Headphones all day.

PC is in the living room so to as not severely **** off my gf they are essential.

Im in the same boat.

I currently use some Sennheiser HD205's but they squeeze my head too much so Im looking for a more comfortable alternative at the moment.

Also used to use Senn CX-300 earphones but they broke recently and I have to wait for Xmas for a replacement pair.

I have a little dilemma with it to be honest. I love my Senns, I don't have anything better for gaming, even my hifi. Problem is I can't use them for BF3, because I need a mic for squad talk. I have a set of headphones with a mic which are nowhere near as comfy nor comparable for sound quality, and I still can't hear my team mates when in a helicopter or tank. The best set up for squad talk is sound from my Creative speakers, which isn't bad by any stretch, and a 360 headset for talk. Game sound isn't quite as good, but the trade off for actually being able to hear my squad mates in all situations is probably worth it.

Yep, always play with headphones - most of the time I'm playing WoW after the missus has gone to bed, and if I woke her up my life wouldn't be worth living :p

I just use a comparatively cheap Logitech pair - more than good enough to listen to some MP3s while playing - and Mumble works great via the built-in boom mic when doing dungeons with guildies.

Tbh thats why I went for my Logitech 930's. I wanted a headset with a mic but still comfy and good sound quality - Plus I really wanted a wireless headset. Imo they are the best headphones I have bought. While they might not be up to strach for the hardcore audiophiles. I am not one of them. The sounds is perfect imo the mic is great and are extremely comfortable. I have actually done it twice now where I'd leave the study and go see my gf still with the headphones on my head. She generally laughs at me and ask what the hell I am doing :p

As per many on here, 5.1 speakers during day, headphones on evening and night due to pc in lounge with gf.

Headphones. I'd use 5.1 Surround if I could (I have the speakers for it). But basically the flatmates complain when the volume is enough that I can pick up all the sound properly.

Only exception really is if I'm watching a film or tv program (not relevant to OP's question).

I also find the sound quality to be better with my headphone set up.
For the record:
NS1000s (second pair still working thankfully)
Xonar D2
FiiO e5
Turn on:
Dolby Headphone
8 Channel sound
ANR on headphones

In my own world :) Got so spooked out by ghosts the other day in Skyrim...

So you connect straight to the soundcard. Is the sound as good a through an amp or stereo system??

yup i do, and it also has a usb connector for the headphones to have power.

iv had previous versions of the headfones with amps, and its just as good with usb power to the headphones

I have my game sounds coming thru my sound card and 5.1 speakers and my mumble thru my headset. If its really late at night then I might play game sounds thru my headset but thats rare

I always use headphones while at home. Currently using a pair of Razer Barracuda HP-1 that I bought from MM. They're currently falling to pieces (using cable ties to keep it together :p) but love the sound that comes from them, also helps on FPS games as I can hear the enemy at a certain distance.

Sennheiser HD595 here, mine were £90 new when I got them, not sure if I'd want to pay over £100 for a set of headphones now..

Always game with headsets because I can't really make too much noise here.

However, nothing's worse than someone special who thinks he's playing alone when you're in a gaming community on vent/ts/skype/anything communications related and you get all their audio+your voice etc everytime they pipe up.

Most people have the option to go to a headset, others...get muted ;)

I do, have a set of Sennheiser PC 333D which I can either plug into my laptop and use the USB 7.1 sound, or use my desktop with the 3.5mm jacks and enjoy CMMS3D.

As I tend to game later in the evening and with my gf being pregnant, its best to not have too much noise, and I can also use my headset with my PS3 if I plug the 3.5mm jack into the TV so its win all round. I can game on my laptop with a gamepad, play PS3 or watch movies or TV all in bed whilst the gf is asleep and she doesn't hear a thing.. she's used to the screen flicking lol

I was using a cheap pair of inear headphones, soon as I got my PC 333D's - well its a whole new world..
