How many people game with headphones @ Home??

:o didn't know people used headphones out of choice, always thought people only used headphones if pc was in a living room or place where speakers would be a problem :o

I have always used speakers (pc in bedroom)

Must admit I'd not use a headset if it wasn't for getting moaned at for the noise some games make. I like to have the sound up loud so only way for me is now a headset...!!

I really, really can't wait until we extend our home and get another room... *fingers crossed*:p

Another headphones (Dolby Headphone) all the time person. Always enjoyed being able to block everything else out and get immersed in a good SP game. The other half of the time, I'm on a vent or mumble server or something with mates. People that use speakers with voice comms need a kick in the nuts. :p

Headphones, I have other people in the house so I choose to be considerate. :)

I pretty much prefer headphones anyway now, more private and the sound is better. At least with what I have. Beyerdynamic DT880s.

Normally use headphones if im playing multiplayer and chatting with friends.

If its during the game and singleplayer Ill mostly use the speakers.

Love my logitech 5.1 wireless headset tho!

I blast it out a pair of floorstanders connected to an AV amp. It's pretty good. If I have to use headphones they go in the amp and the sound is decent. I don't like having stuff on my head though so only if necessary.

I use 5.1 system for films and 360 games, but it just doesn't really work properly when sitting forward at my desk. Music, sure, but games on PC have to be through headphones!

Anything but headphones seems foreign to me. I think it depends on how long you've been PC gaming and if you started out on consoles, anyone who played at least semi-competitive FPS games (CS and Q3 for me) has headset use ingrained into them.

Still using the same Sennheiser 155s I've had for the last 8 years, gotta love german engineering.

Is that Dolby Headphone as in this:

I can't decide if it's worth it or not on my PC360's

Yes, apart from you wouldn't want 2 channels from the dropdown I believe? (No idea what card it is).

It simulates surround sound properly using mismatched phase/volume per ear, as in how your ears actually hear sound. I've always found it much better than cramming crappy small 5.1 speakers into each side of a headset and calling it "true surround".

I have the Asus Xonar DG card. Should I be using 8 channels for games then like the config panel suggests?

Using headphones here, goldring ns 1000's via an asus xonar DX. Dolby headphone enabled, i bought a set of 2.1 creative speakers just over a year ago. In total ive only used them for about three hours.
