How many pull-ups can you do?

Iron Gym is what I have ;) Slips over the door frame no problems but with 100Kg hanging from it, It does leave marks on the frame :(

Only about 5 :p

Some guy in the gym can do loads, right after he's been on the machines too.

I must be doing something wrong.

I have a bar across a door frame and the strain on my abdominal region is what causes me to stop before my arms get tired.

I get to about 12 before the sting gets too much.

It hurts the inside of the thighs - I can squeeze 3-4 out now - well could. So bring it on for the end of the year! :D

My iron gym only takes 20 stone /127 KG as far as I remember but I'll give anything a go! doubt I'll see that much weight though on my pull-chin ups, not for a while anyway :D

I doubt you are doing anything wrong, You could just have slightly imbalanced weaker abs maybe? Other than that I'm not sure what to say except give it some more practice :p

Most of you arent doing proper pull ups, the average man would be lucky to do 5 full pull ups.

Pray tell, how do you know I'm not doing proper pull ups? Or for that matter some of the other members of the forum?

Whilst I agree a lot of people don't do full extensions and bring their chins over the bar, most do. Some struggle with getting their chin over the bar owing to flexibility issues as well.

Please don't go giving generalisations without knowing your audience. :)
