How much AS 5 on E6600?

Does anyone know why everest and coretemp say the temp is 33c then 48/47c?


These are idle temps, and I have just added another fan on the top of the inside of my P180 case. It is quite hot today though.

First is the motherboard sensor, the other two are the on die core diodes. The way to look at is the motherboard sensor is the temperature the HSF/WC will see, the core diodes are used by the cpu to control the throttling etc. The main limit has to be from the core diodes, the core/IHS solder begins to melt at 77C so its has to start throttling lower than that I would think.
