How much do you want to be paid?

What are hours?, experience/educational requirements?, company size?. You would normally ignore the package details and just concentrate on the salary. Take your current salary, research salaries being paid across the sector you work in and ask for the middle ground. Go too high and you will be passed over, ask too little and your ambiton will be questioned. The company in question already know what they want to pay and the question is to test your expectations and ambitions and see if they are realistic.

what position is it you are applying for?

I want to be paid enough so that I can live comfortably in a nice house. Given where my work is to own a house I would need a stonking pay rise. If I can move elsewhere in the country on current salary would probably do nicely.

Seeing as they're asking for the package expectations and not just salary don't forget about:

pension contributions (final salary or stakeholder)
holiday
private health/dental cover
life insurance
permanent disability insurance
bonus percentage
car allowance/company car
further training or CPD
