how much does it cost you to get to work?

£0, as I cycle to work.

Although I suppose you could work out how much rubber I use off the tyres, wear on groupset etc & get a ‰ from that.

30 minutes a day in the car, 6 miles each way. about £3 in fuel per day, a bit more if you take into account wear and tear.

Nothing, I live just past Tower Bridge and work at Bank therefore, I walk.

When it's raining, £1.45 on the bus.

I'm very lucky to live in Zone 1 and not have to embrace the rush hour Tube or pay commuting costs.

I live around 2 miles away from work.

So naturally I drive rather than take the bus that is 30m away or walk (who would do that?!)

Driving takes longer (to avoid traffic there is a back way) geographically, so maybe 4 miles? Negligible cost really.

On a fuel cost basis, its 0.17%, on total costs, its around 1%

I only live a few miles away from work and fairly decent salary. Can't complain.

I pay normal company car tax, based on the P11D.
I also pay car fuel benefit which is a set monthly amount based on the vehicle's CO2 figure.

It doesn't matter if I do 1 private mile a month or 10000 private miles a month, my payment remains the same. Same goes for business miles.

I have access to unlimited fuel from our own supplies via a fuel key and I can use as much as I like for business or private use.

:O

DO you give your key to family too?

Why not get a 500L tank in the Boot and sell it on the estate? :P

I probably profit from my work journeys. 95% of my journeys are eligible for 45p / 25p - and although my employer only pays me 15p plus monthly allowance when I claim it back through self assessment overall I think I at least break even.( including insurance, depreciation, tyres etc). Big repairs would leave me out of pocket.

Haha... if only.

We are measured internally on our fuel consumption, it doesn't take much of a discrepancy before people are investigated. Plus every fuel bunker is riddled with CCTV.

About £10-12 worth of fuel is what I use a week. I put £20 in every 2 weeks until I get to the last needle and commit £40 to put in, but usually comes out around £38 to fill my tank from that mark.

Anyway, at £10 a week it's 4.5%
